I'm not sure how IDD SMS important to you?

I prefer SMS, and I don't main paying if the fee is reasonable. Got a few friends in Singapore that I sms daily. Anyhow, I tested and it works. New to Um, so just exploring what they offer.

If no reload after 5 days. Can I reload after 1 month?
*
yes, there is a 90-day grace period

you can reload within 90 days of the expiry date

if you do not, your line will be disconnected and you would need to buy new sim pack

Does U mobile have "Friends & Family" packages offered?
*
No, this is how they make their money. However, the trend is for other telco to move away from Friend and Family / Favourites too, example Xpax 2 and DiGi Easy.

shud be 50 days (MAX) after u cant make call/sms rite?
*
50 days is Hotlink

Umobile it is 90 days, according to previous answer here

however, it is not stated in Umobile TnC which says only:

4.8 Your Account will be maintained until the relevant expiry date. The validity period of the credit in your Account varies depending on the value of the credit you buy via the Top-Up Voucher. You must add new credit to your Account before the expiry date otherwise your Account will be terminated and your credit forfeited. If this happens, your mobile telephone number will be withdrawn immediately without any prior notice from us. We are not liable to you for any damages, cost, loss or expenses suffered as a result of the termination of your Account or the Services.

normally telco will give you at least 1 or 2 days notice before they terminate

DiGi send warning sms 30 days before termination date, and again closer to the final date

Hotlink gives the termination date when you check your balance under *122# but in my experience did not send any warning sms of imminent termination

Umobile and Xpax, I don't know their practice, but if you are not using your line actively, it is recommended to keep it switched on, or at least switch on each day

my Celcom Prepaid Internet sim got terminated because they reduced the grace period from 100 to 50 days without my knowing..

I got an SMS saying my free calls will expire shortly. But the last SMS from u-mobile after I topped-up clearly said that my free calls will last until March. My friend got the same SMS. What's happening, U-Mobile? Are you shortchanging us again?
*
1 How much did you top up and when?
2 Have you topped up any additional amount since then?
3 What expiry date for the free calls does the system show under *118*6*3*1#?

U-Mobile sent me the wrong SMS again telling me my free calls are expiring when it should continue for 2 more months! If they keep doing this, even an apology from the CEO won't be enough.

Maybe 1 million subscribers is already too much for them to handle.
*
if you top up RM50 last week, then should be 50 days of free calls Um-Um and expiring around mid-February

i'd suggest you make a short test call once it has "expired" based on the sms they are sending you

anybody can confirm... sad.gif

you need to subscribe to Unlimited Mobile Internet, it is not automatic

the cost is RM28 for 30 days, so you need a minimum balance of RM28 or more

the quota is 500MB, after that Umobile will reduce the speed to 64kbps

more details are here

I ever called UM customer service to cancel voicemail but I was told that if I do that, the Missed Call Alert will also be stopped.
*
thanks for the info

wah, that is bad of Um

i know DiGi and Maxis the voicemail and MCA are controllable separately

anyyway, i did find one other way to effectively disable voicemail - can set up call forwarding to another number instead
