QUOTE(Crys_Crys @ Jul 13 2011, 12:09 AM) I every 3 days change the water cause i felt the bowl is kinda small for them .. so to keep them in healthy water i change every 3rd day .. yeah yeah when i squeeze water out .. they so smaller .. put back in water they become bloated Haha... That would be extremely miracle Once Mr Mou Mou very notti!! He don't wan to float even after I massaged him, ended up i scold him for being a notti boy And yea... The bowl I bought is sort of expensive actually... But I have no choice cause I went to look elsewhere and I can't even find one that is suitable for all of my Marimos Glad I found this one though... Haha |

Actually, there is something bothering me as well...
One of my giant Marimo has gray spots... Its a very small spot but it is visible through the glass vase... I'm kinda worry that it will turns out to be yellowish/brownish spots if I leave it too long like that... And I tried washing it with running water... But the gray spot is still there, as if it is not dirt or stains sticking on it... Hope someone will clear my doubt |

QUOTE(xecton @ Jul 13 2011, 12:26 PM) Talking to plants is like talking to pets QUOTE(Crys_Crys @ Jul 13 2011, 01:41 PM) That lump might be a sign of reproduction from your Mou Mou although I'm not really sure about it But it really looks like your Mou Mou is pregnant... If there are no yellow or brown spots on your Mou Mou, then most likely is not a disease... Congratz to your Mou Mou |

QUOTE(leeyung @ Jul 13 2011, 08:39 PM) No worry, marimo likes human, will produce waste too, some flur on the marimo may turned to gray>white>drop, just a normal metabolism as other plants do. I just scared it will turn yellow/brownish instead of white... This means the fur is just turning color... Phewww... Scared me Thanks for explaining it to me... QUOTE(Crys_Crys @ Jul 13 2011, 09:17 PM) Yup... Means your mou mou is pregnant already |

QUOTE(Crys_Crys @ Jul 14 2011, 04:35 PM) Good lor Hope you get 2 healthy cucu QUOTE(huiyin_hsu @ Jul 14 2011, 11:20 PM) mmmm.. true also! normally how much water should we put inside a jar? for lets say a giant sized one? 5 times its own height?10 times? There are no specific amount of water allocated for the Marimos... However, the more water the better it would be because they are plants and they need water... If you provide too little water for them eventually you can see the water volume getting lesser as well... They are able to survive under low water volume too but it is wiser to provide them with more water...Besides that, by providing more water it could keep the water temperature lower compared to low water volume... I can't give you the exact amount of water volume for one giant Marimo but what I know is, the more water the better... If you have a small housing for the giant Marimo, you need to change the water more frequently to keep them with new water and more CO2 for them to take in... Hope that my statement could help you |
