Just got an email from XoticPC, not a good news:

--------------------

Sweeann –

Thanks again for being patient!

I wanted to drop you an email to give you a quick update on your order. We did receive a shipment of upgraded screens that we had been waiting for, but not all of them are the AUO V4 screen as we had ordered. We are not going to have enough screens to fill all of our orders so we are contacting you to give you a few options. First off, we can get you the stock screen (which is glossy) and refund you the price you had paid for the upgrade. The 2nd option would be to go with the V1 display, which has a 60% color gamut (brightness and contrast are listed the same as on the V4) but it is still a matte display. If you are willing to go this route, we will credit back $100 on the screen upgrade and we can get you a free 30 day no-dead pixel policy as well, to ensure it has not dead pixels. If you decide not to switch, I cannot guarantee we will be able to get you the 95% gamut screen based on the number we received. Please let me know how you would like to proceed.

--------------------

Anyone has any info on this :
- V1 Display, which has a 60% color gamut (brightness and contrast are listed the same as on the V4) but it is still a matte display?

I am not sure what kind of screen is this also.
But my suggestion is: Always go for stock screen.

@Prince J

Well, I already reply to XoticPC that I insist on my 95% gamut screen based on my order.

I chose XoticPC because of its reputation, but another main reason was that they are are offering this 95% gamut screen, if I were to accept anything less, I would have just ordered it from you or our Singapore reseller in the first place, which is so near to me and I will not have to worry much about the warranty.

and their reply ....

-----------------------------

Sweeann –

Thanks for the quick response. I will add you to the list of the 95% panels. If we run into a situation where we will not have enough panels and there is going to be a delay I will let you know from there. I will keep you posted as this develops.

Hi all,

Anyone knows the display currently being offered by Sager:

15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) (New Sager Option) ( + 45 )

Is it the same screen as the one offered by XoticPC and other reseller?

Hi Bretts,

Its me again .. tongue.gif

Wanna check with you, the display that I ordered:

15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) (+ USD190) (Add's 4-7 business days to build time)

and the one currently being offered in by Sager:

15.6" FHD 16:9 "Matte Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright LED Anti-Glare Screen w/ 95% NTSC Color Gamut (1920x1080) (New Sager Option) ( + USD45 )

Is it the same screen?

-----------------------

and their reply

-----------------------
At this point, we do not know if that will be the same screen offered by Sager or if that will be just a comparable model. They are still estimating that they will not be in stock at Sager for another few weeks, so we will not know until at least then.

They gave me a similar response when I ordered the 95% NTSC Color Gamut screen. I either wait for(god knows how long) them to have stock or change to regular screen. Well that screen is not a must for me. It won't make the PC unusable.
*
Yeah, and now they need to wait for all to reply them on the choice of screen ... whether to proceed with the customization, or revert back to stock screen ... then only they can count whether they have enough stock for us or not ... but what is taking them so long .... it has been a week dy ... vmad.gif

You need to have someone to check the laptop for you to see if everything is working in order upon receiving it.  smile.gif

My wife lor ... so means have to open up and test before signing the receipt?

But my notebook will come without OS ... so can only do some very basic checking only upon receiving.

What else should/can my wife check ar?

Power (To test Power Brick and power supply to the notebook)
Screen (just to see it is working ... dun think I can test any dead pixel as at now without the OS)
BIOS (check the correct specs received, i.e. CPU, graphic card, total memory size and number of sockets used, HDD space, BluRay Drive existence, any more?)
Keyboard (how to test ar without the OS? I guess only can test the arrow keys to move around in BIOS)
All the buttons on notebook

Dun think my wife can test the following until the OS is installed:

DVI output
HDMI output
USB 2.0/3.0 ports
e-SATA combo port
Firewire ports
Built-in Video Cam
Built-in Speaker
Built-in SubWoofer
Built-in Microphone
Microphone Jack
Headphone Jack
Line-in Jack
S/PDIF output Jack
Network Port
Wireless Connectivity
Bluetooth Connectivity
Touch Pad
Card Reader
Temperature Check

Hey guys ... my Sager is now at :

Status: Your item left the United States from ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS) at 10:58 pm on June 03, 2011.

Wanna check with you guys, normally how long would it take to reach the door steps after the above status?

I mean at least I could ask my wife to expect when the package is going to be arrive.

within 7 days tops, depend of how fast poslaju deliver the item once the package entering malaysia. smile.gif

Will I be getting an email from USPS stating that the package has entered Malaysia and has been handed over to Poslaju?

Or that will be the end of the status from USPS?

i have try that method and somehow it doesn't work. It's better to monitor the progress from time to time. And once the package entering malaysia, monitor the status using poslaju tracking system
*
But how would I know the package has entered Malaysia if USPS doesn't email me?... rclxub.gif

lolz. just use usps tracking system and monitor from time to time lo. biggrin.gif
as i mention earlier, the e-mail function only gives me the old status, and not the recent one.
*
Oh okay okay ... now I understand, actually I am monitoring using both methods, from their tracking system website as well as I registered for email notification.

Anyway, so which means, there will be some updates on their tracking system website stating that the package has entered Malaysia ... rclxms.gif

Coz I have been looking at the same status for 2 days dy, was wondering whether has the package entered or not, or entered dy, but there is no more updates on their tracking system since they will be handling the package to Poslaju.

Thanks ya.

I just try and check from the PosLaju tracking system and see and found ...

------------------------

From USPS:

Detailed Results:

Electronic Shipping Info Received, June 01, 2011
Acceptance, June 02, 2011, 8:40 am, LINCOLN, NE 68507
Processed through Sort Facility, June 02, 2011, 3:05 pm, LINCOLN, NE 68501
Processed through Sort Facility, June 02, 2011, 5:59 pm, OMAHA, NE 68110
Arrival
International Dispatch, June 03, 2011, 10:58 pm, ISC CHICAGO IL (USPS)

------------------------

From PosLaju:

Item No Ref No Date Time Process Office
xxxxxxxxxxxxxx 03-Jun-2011 22:58 Departure from outward OE

------------------------

I wonder, does that mean the parcel already arrived in Malaysia? If not in, how come PosLaju got that status geh? but 1 line of status only lar.

Or it is some standard international tracking system, which link each other together ... so though the package is still not in Malaysia, but it can still tell the last status of the parcel .... just wondering.
