*

QUOTE(jimmykvt @ May 24 2011, 10:11 PM)
Your laptop temperature is quite low. I'm assuming you are in a room with air-con.
These days weather is hot lol
*
yep the room with air-con, usually 22 to 23

pros and con bout alienware ah? basically there arent, most prolly cons due to because their always sell something which damn overprice and lousy. Alienware used to be a be selling a damn good notebook but after taken by dell, i am just disappointed with it. For asus wise, price is good, but there are many complains regarding the quality of the notebook.
*
haha, good point but i just agreea bout the overprice howeer alienware is really good laptops llooll, how is your baby np7280? any bech u got? how is temps, .... BTW u have forgot to take the pictures of your lappy, Mine is still testing seems sad.gif hope get it faster......

hmm...bigger laptop comes with bigger room for cooling?

But this Alienware M18X really gives Sager NP7282 a slap.
M18X is not available in Malaysia, I tried to customize an M18X with AMD HD6970 crossfire in Dell U.S. website. Just choose not to upgrade the RAM and HDD since we can get cheaper here, price might be quite close to NP7282 and somemore it comes with an 18.4" screen.
*
yeah alienware m18x can be close to np7282, but u can get in any high price as m18x is really overprocied a higher performence with np7282, u can come up with a dual 6970m or gtx485m sli plus a low-cost six core processor like 970 or even 990x, it will be more powerful than a 2920xm ... but i am not sure still about the quality of m18x screen, i did have some issues before with alienware products but thats y i am switching to sager.

QUOTE(jimmykvt @ May 27 2011, 04:02 PM)
I wonder if Sager will come up with a 18.4 inch LCD screen, hahaha, kinda look forward to it biggrin.gif
*
perhaps once they can back to that line of 18.4 inches, still some companies i gues like eurocome and origin pc are offering that option but its with mobility stuff

QUOTE(kahjye @ May 27 2011, 04:06 PM)
tried crysis 2 with gtx460m.

turns out gtx460m cant really handle crysis2.

i got around 30 to 39 fps for 1920x1080 at lowest setting : Gamer :

damn -.-
*
are u sure? becuz i get 30 to 35 frame rate at high setting at 1600x900 with GTX260m in m15x...yeah 1920.1080 for crysis 2 is quiet heavy, currently u can play with A NICE FRAME RATE crysis 2 at hardcore settings with 1920x1080 only with GTX485m SLI or 6970m CRoss according to the benchmars in notebookcheck, however a single GPU of them may be possible but at frame rate of 30 . less or more....its damn heavy !!! i will bechmark many games once i recieved my np7282....crysis 1 and 2 - the witcher 2 - metro 2033 - fable 3 and so on as well as dirt 3, i think all are possible to play at highest setting with 1080 biggrin.gif

I'm still curious about stuffing 3 HDD + 1 BDROM in NP7282.

i try to do that if i have time, nowadays so busy, i just wanna recieve np7280 and gaming some time !! hehe, but i try to do that, i will post beches and so on also.

just wanted to ask for an opinion, would it be better to deal with lpc digital or mucro.asia. interested in the np8150-s1
*
lpc digital is good but if u dun want much of trouble and so on for transfering monye and bla bla bla price j is a great choice, i have bought my np7280 and its on the way soon, well he helped me very good through the purchase process and choosing spec and so on

Speaking of thermal paste, don't buy Arctic Silver as the result was not impressive at all. I have tried it on my G73Jh sad.gif
*
yeah Arctic Silver Thermal is not worth at all, but its much cheaper offered by companies, well i searched in net before, so far IC diamond is quiet better than Arctic Silver and as well TX-4 Thermals, lower heat....its better, i choose diamond as well for my np7282 since i am using 6 core processor and dual GPU, i coudnt take risk and choose a normal compuond...im not gaming alwyas, sometimes using Xilisoft and adobe softweres, they all using all the six cores, if its not a good thermal they really will fry your heatsink nicely

ic diamond is more effective than mx2 around 3 C when loaded. AS5 cant even compete with mx2.
*
true...becuz before i used to have arctic silver, then i paste the ic diamond and find it its really better, even though its offered expensive but its a important necessetiy for powerful laptops.
----
----
btw i think 970 was a good choice for gaming, the results are very close to a 980 or 990x due to being a same architecture of cpu, good is its a 32nm cpu...produce less heat and better WATT draining !

Dual GTX560m is offered for np7282 at sager website also, seems gtx560m sli would be better than a single gtx 485m compare to before, as u know gtx460m sli performance was same as a single gtx485m. now i guess gtx560m is really better choice .

Any diff between 6970m sli and gtx 485m sli?the price diff is about 1k++
*
just to say,, GTX485m SLI is a really overpriced card (specially if u going for SLI!) well it has features of supporting 3D and so on but its useless in x7200 since its not supported, truly i can say in my own opinion GTX485m SLI has better Drivers with less issues than GTX485m SLI but CrossFire Links is scaling better than SLI..., well u can c the benchmarks, somehow crossfire results are close or better than GTX485m SLI - in some games like Crysis 2 and crysis 1 and metro 2033 or starcraft and so on.....somehow in some frame rate value is less or more a bit only, not that much... . if u got the money u can go for it, personally i decided to spent that almost 350 dollar on 970...becuz of being 32nm and 6 core

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Jun 1 2011, 06:13 PM)
maybe gtx485m sli is much faster than hd6970m crossfire?
*
only 7% faster in average biggrin.gif hehe

I suggest u take crossfire, the drivers now are prrety good compare to before, plus the dual link scales better than 485m sli links in some manners!! Specially heavy games, in my own opinion 485m sli is useless since we dun have 3d screen option in x7200 yet, welllll....i have bouaght same spec as u but ive choosen 6970m crossfire and i spent the money that i wabted to spend for 485m sli for a better cpu, core i7 970, it has 6 cores and its from gulftown family, the performence is something nearly of core i7 990ex and its based on 32nm intel tech comapre to 4 core and being 42nm of core i7 960, its more powerful than 960 and even with overclock it can easily beat an overclocked 2920xm ... . Bigfoot is good choice but better u get a high-speen uni-fi connection to use the advantages of this card, im getting mine for 12k almost, but not only for gaming, i use bluray much, if your use is less then dun waste your money on it....win 7 ultimate is too much of waste since im not a programmer and i dun have much of important files to encrypt and protect them and locate it to host or use laptop as a host plus some useless security options whichnis onlynusefulnfor those who want to use their laptop or pc as a host orna shared host network basednsystem, the u need to plus a 990ex... and we dun really need those extra functions to act in our daily use, but its up2u...if the functions of ultimate edition are important to u

the gtx560m handle game better??does it play well in highest setting for metro 2033
*
Unfortunately not, well according to all the current benchmarks metro 2033 wil be able to be played at a smooth frame rate only on dual gtx485m and dual ati 6970m . Highest settings, with average frame rate of 30 to 35 in generall

Gtx560 seems slightly better than gtx460m, we wouldnt know till we c the true bechmarks

checked with LPC digital in my last mail. GTX560m is 16% performance higher than GTX460m.
pre-ordered in EA download manager.
*
yeah as i said slightly....yepz even in Notebookcheck also the gtx560m rank is not that higher from gtx460m, as it seems to be increase in performaence only about 15 to 20% also depends on games ...

rclxms.gif BTW my no7282 has arrived, gonna get it sooooooon, i am too hungry to gaming and test this beast, 12gb ram plus 970 and dual 6970m with SSD performence, should be the best laptop i ever could have !!! so excited drool.gif

eh.. grats on getting ur lappy, if u manage to locate where the ram are, do let me know, i fail to find it D:

also, i read the news where sager going to release sandy bridge for 7282 at the end of the year, arggh, i might sell mine during those times and get the latest one.  tongue.gif
*
ok i will check for u this one however i am not sure where is it yet......
-----
yeah i know it , actually it was kind of obvious that they going to release it some-days at this year, but i dun mind actually ! lol....970 power is equal to the sandy-bridge cpuS or somehow sometimes more also, and it has 6 core...well unless we wanna upgrade our lappys to a Extreme Edition CPUs , which is kind of useless for me as a mostly hardcore gamer...hehe, important is GPU that we may be upgrade it also....
------
------
BTW i HATe mayBank, its close on today and tmr sad.gif( cant get my cash to recieve the lappy, should wait for monday sad.gif( hehe
-----
i will post some bechmarks and FurMark results and also UniEnglie results monday night hopefully biggrin.gif

But i wonder. Can Sager actually change its like say GC or CPU like Desktop computer?
*
yes can smile.gif depend on what u want to do, if u really want a desktop performence like giving u power of a GTX480 with Desktop CPU u can go for a NP7280, with budget of 11k plus i guess, with SSD and all thos expensive stuff u can get a REALL BEAST !

But im thinking the new GTX 560 and i7 2nd gen is good .. It all for gaming so 500GB is sufficent. Want to play and delete after finish game just to make space for new game.
Im currently use my Acer core 2 duo with GT9600m. After 3 Years, it seems it cant run much of todays game. So sad ~~
*
oooowww...my old HP had same spec as your Acer, yeah 6900m GT actually is quiet weak, even nowadays a GTX560M is not that satisfying for gamers....hehe, unless....u are talking about a desktop 560 ! hahaha biggrin.gif but yeah 2620M would be enough already if u do gaming only, but if u got the money my recommendation will be GTX485m and a 2920xm or 6970M

GTX 485 more power than GTX 560 ?? hmm.gif How come ? GTX 560 is the latest right? The core is 775mhz for GTX560 while 485 is 557mhz. How can be so power ?
*
yes its much more powerful than GTX560m of corz, GTX560m is a slight increased at clock rates compare to GTX460m, Beside, u can check the ranking at notebookcheck website as well that GTX560m is only few GPUs after GTX460m, well currently options of 6970m and GTX485m are the most powerful Mobility GPUs in market which are compareable to a GTX460 desktop, well to the top, with Dual link, 6970m crossfire and GTX485m SLI are the highest which are equal to a GTX480 or same level somehow as a GTX570 desktop..

hi friend.. i just bought my sager np7282-s1 unite from Illgear (prince J0 on his following topi in his Sign area - well the service he provided is very good, u can trust them as i received my unit on time and very good, my unit costs much and everything was ok, u can truly trust them, their price is according to dollar price and its quiet reason able if u dun want to struggle with Wire transfer and so on those things, easily u can purchase the laptop from them and get it in 3 or 4 weeks
