Yes, the pot actually heated up the glass panel. I still can hold the side of the glass panel & not really hot. The heat only the area around the still pot.

One bad trade-off of using Induction- You can't use any other not-steel wok!!..It must be steel and nowadays lesser steel wok except those Hi-end showing for induction cooker...I will bring a magnet to shop for new pot haha blush.gif

From my experience, I find gas a lot easier to control in terms of heat intensity

Unless my induction cooker is crap. If it is, can recommend which brand and model?

Either you don't know how to use the induction cooker or you bough the cheap version. Many chefs also use induction cooker lah ( I saw many times on TV)... It's the skill of the person using the equipment, not the equipment's fault. I've cooked many things using induction cooker: lamb chop, steaks, grilled fish, chicken kirahi, lamb kirahi, ayam masak merah, kari kepala salmon, nasi daging, nasi ayam, nasi goreng udang, ikan siakap stim, soups, etc. For simple cooking for lunch or dinner usually it took me less than 30 minutes from chopping to finish cooking. I cook rice in microwave oven, less than 15 minutes... clean, quick and no burnt crust.

i'm using induction cooker bought rm200 (forgot what brand :-/)

i cook almost everyday using induction cooker. and my electric bill

did not even reach rm 30 : D.

the device consume power according to the temperature. the higher the temp the higher the power needed. but if the heat able to reach the target temperate quickly then the electrical consumption wont go high.

But induction cooker just for cooking normal cooking that required medium
cooking period. If you are cooking dodol then the bill will be sky high biggrin.gif.

Which model you're using? I used a smaller Kenwood induction cooker before I bought the larger Vigico unit, cost nearly RM 3800 total at the time because at the same time I also bought cookwares for the induction cooker.

that is true. but it is so easy to clean. because the heat takes sometimes to go down and up. so cannot get quick change in heat.
That's why I have both. can still cook nasi pattaya. biggrin.gif

The Kenwood unit is good even though its more expensive (RM 400+) than other single hob type induction cooker. I gave it to my brother and he is still using it after 5 years. That's how durable it is. The Vigico unit is just superb... I can go home during lunchtime (only 5 minute drive) and cook a meal because it heats up so fast. However, if your cooking experience is mostly using gas cooker... you'd be suprised how fast you can prepare meals for 4 persons using induction cooker. Normally, I would cook rice using microwave oven (15 minutes) and at the same time cook the main dish (chicken, lamb or fish) about 15-20 minutes. And cook either soup, tomyam or stir fry vegies using the other hob. So normally it's just half an hour of chopping and cooking.
