With the rising of manchester city(star players, winning the fa cup, being a top four), I wonder why this thread still lack manchester city supporters.

Nah, it is similar to Arsenal case and Barcelona's Qatar Foundation on their jersey. Only time will tell whether a particular club will lose their identity or not. Nobody know what the future hold.

That is what I've mentioned, City are losing their identity, not trolling.
I remember MUFC once had a proposal to change OT's name to Nike Arena. Fans raged and they dropped the idea. I think City should reject the proposal because since City is the 'pure' Manchester Club, they should at least keep the City of Manchester name. It's like Wembley changing to Virgin stadium. The English root is gone. |

It's even funnier considering an "Etihad Stadium" already existed in Melbourne Australia since 2009

Since when does ETIHAD means it 'belongs' to united (or synomous with Leeds United etc.) club? Does Tiger Airways means Tiger Woods?
Is it patented? Bodoh & Arrogant to assume a generic term is 'applicable'! Surely fans can differentiate between ETIHAD stadium (there will be only one specifically named ETIHAD in the world & supposedly acclaimed in the best league) and that of a low profile stadium downunder. ![]() Its even funnier that you incite others not to post here but then like sinofire (another mustard) you can't stay away from here. Yes you did advocate it here and in MUST thread! You should chor lahrn tang (australian varsity team eh?). Crawl away on your pot belly & stay on the sideline i.e. Tenggelam eh? cakap tak serupa bikin Stay away from this thread if you are true to yourself Now don't go & politik mod to delete my post or get me suspended if I'm ridiculing you for being stupid & for your incitements. Added on July 9, 2011, 11:38 pm » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Added on July 9, 2011, 11:57 pmYes I know the Docklands stadium has been renamed ETIHAD stadium and it will probably be known to locals or domestic only. The ETIHAD stadium in Manchester will be worldwide acclaimed to give the Airways (flag carrier of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates) much more exposure! Etihad translated literally means "unison, union or alliance" This post has been edited by CityBluePrint: Jul 10 2011, 12:00 AM |

Whaaaaa butthurt much! Such gracious of you to call people in Australia as low profile, when all the success you are farting about now are bought by the same group of people.Like it or not, the Etihad stadium will always be version 2.0. Sad indeed, aiming to be the best team in the world yet stadium name copycat that of a low profile and unknown stadium down other.
It's even funnier u have to post a pic of Simpson characters each time replying to me. Nasri for 22.2m, done deal apparently. Thoughts? Isn't he just another Silva? Personally, Silva > Nasri. But let's see how Mancini's gonna work this out. |

More Simpsons pics please! Let me enlighten you. Controversy dogged the renaming rights between the Docklands Owners and the AFL (Australian Football League) because of the lucrative sponsorship deal between the AFL and QANTAS. Etihad Airways have the renaming rights of the Docklands stadium which is expected to expire Feb' 2014. With the 10 year lease now at Manchester City Stadium, Etihad has the naming rights and will not have controversy from BPL (meeting the fit & proper person or entity test) or others dogging it. Are you suggesting that BPL is a lower profile league than the AFL? Bodoh. Manchester City and its fans are happy with the MCFC owner. The owner have pumped equity not only into the FC but also to the City's surroundings. Converting the equity into shares without the FC going into onerous debts or gouging the fans outright. Polls show that MCFC fans are the most satisfied among the BPL. City fans do not want the owner out! We will gladingly oblige with more homer pics since you asked politely. You are too kind by suggesting that you are PLAYING ALONG. You mean your euphemism for PLAYACTING. At best you need to ![]() At worst I'm suggesting you are misplacing your ontological predicates. On one hand you incite others not to post here while on the other you are playing along. Utter height of hypocrisy. I'll be kind to you, you have been strung along by CityBP. P.S. How did you pass your ESL 101 exams? |

just to comment on the stadium naming :
this is so that the owner can inject money to man city through stadium sponsorship, and not by directly injecting money to the club, due to the new financial fair play rules. it is now becoming a new trend that a club offer their stadium to be named after their sponsor, for a period of times, for example for 10 years sponsorship. so, nothing to do with losing identity whatsoever, just like arsenal have their stadium named after their sponsor : emirates |
