Roberto Mancini didn't even mentioned about the offside goal, blame the linesman and giving excuse during post match interview. He accept the defeat and admitted his player fail to make the most of those chances. Very classy, other manager in his shoes would probably give 1000 excuses, make sarcastic remarks or cheap shot at the referee, linesman, opposition etc. like Neil Warnock.

Is there such thing as EPL match fixing?cuz if there is last nite game was one of it then, because after MU,Chelsea lost and Spurs draw it didnt came as suprised at all to see City lost too,the offside goal can be simply disallowed but no the refs and linesman pulled the "didnt see" act again, wat a time to pull such act in a week where other big guns also didnt win,so i just wonder is EPL match fixing exist hmm.gif

it was clear as daylight, i think. linesman got it all wrong. that said, it is very surprising that city is unable to score for 2 games in a row now ..

watch motd, he was out of range from the play, where by he actually fell back a bit, and due to that his view of sight pointed to ji being on instead off.

it is off, but biasa lah as many said dah penat and all, also they dont have the benefit of replays, so the theory of conspiracy, match fixing can be put to rest.

From the correct angle it is very obvious offside. However if you see the linesman's position, he isnt on the same line as the last defender, he was behind. As such, even when Ji is offside, from the linesman's view It is very difficult to judge. Plus, the last defender in this case is very far apart causing the ref unable to use his judgement of relativity to determine offside or not.

QUOTE
the foreshortening effect, which occurs when the distance between the attacking player and the assistant referee is significantly different from the distance to the defending player, and the assistant referee is not directly in line with the defender.

Had the linesman kept up a bit and is in line with the last defender, it would be easier to spot the offside because it is pretty obvious from the replay.
