Well, i was there in the mid April for business trip. And i was told by the locals that there were a few suicide and failed attempted suicide case happen at the renovating building. I asked why they chose the building to jump they said dunno and i said probably some drug junky or those who lose money in share market. But not, one of the suicide case was involved with an filthy rich old man.

And 2 week after i went back to KL, Sinchew New paper came with another failed attempted suicide at the exact same location, again. and for your info, Bintang Plaza is the only building which is under renovation in Miri now

I am in KL but always travel to Miri.. my staff at BIntang Miri also told me many people suicide from jumping down at 6th floor.

You no know, man. Bintang Plaza is the old building ( which has mcD, toysRus, parkson n etc ), now they changed the name to BINTANG MEGAMALL upon the the new building extension ( at the back ). And yeah, now the building is more or less the size of Sungei Wang. Also, they're building the hotel.

Behind Parkson last time was a housing area, why now they want to disturb? Bored? As for the committing suicide thing, I ask you, would you tell another person (most likely the police) why you wanna commit suicide? Of courselah they will say don't know. It's a secret for them to bring it with them to the grave. Unless they write it down or something. Because failed attempt to commit suicide will result in imprisonment. And StationMonkey if I remember correctly. If we have slightly better facilities, then fine that's great, if we have lesser trees but more money, what's not to brag about? Then shove it. If we can think rationally as part of a modern society, then just give an honest opinion without the attitude and then piss off.
