conclusions of the day: Juve are the most solid team of serie a, no doubt about it.

Inter are too inconsistent, and Milan's backline is weak right now.

Clubs threaten to boycott Serie A matches

Fourteen Serie A sides are threatening to boycotting matches against Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan in a dispute about the way clubs sell their TV rights.

The clubs are demanding a return to collective bargaining with the aim of spreading out television revenue more equally.

"Either we don't play matches against the big clubs or else we send youth teams out to play against them, killing off any interest the matches might have internationally," Sampdoria president Riccardo Garrone was quoted as saying in La Gazzetta dello Sport on Saturday.

Della Valle: Fiorentina want Frey replacement
tribalfootball.com - January 15, 2006
QUOTE
Fiorentina patron Diego Della Valle has contradicted coach Cesare Prandelli and director general Pantaleo Corvino over the club's need to find a new goalkeeper.

Both Prandelli and Corvino have declared that no replacement will be signed for Sebastien Frey, but Della Valle said: "I've spoken with Andrea (Della Valle) and Corvino about finding a good goalkeeper to replace Frey."

Italian Government steps into TV rights row

Italy's communications minister Mario Landolfi told Serie A clubs and television networks to find a compromise and resolve a row about TV rights that has threatened the competition.

Fourteen Serie A sides had threatened to boycott matches against Juventus, AC Milan and Inter Milan in a multi-million euro dispute about how clubs sell their broadcast rights.

Landolfi, after a three hour meeting with soccer and television chiefs, told a news conference he had told those involved to use their good sense to broker a deal.

'Those in charge of soccer and television have been urged to find a solution that guarantees the championship and fulils the needs of the broadcasters,' Landolfi said.
