i'm also searching for 195/55/15 now..
so far what i've found are:
- yokohama a drive for rm220 a piece
- falken ze 522 for 185
- dunlop formula d01 for 185

looking for a bit of performance for my next batch of donuts so thinking of getting the D01.. read some feedback online and only the D01 sounds ok while the 522 has poor wet grip and the a drive is just average..

what do you guys think? also how much does a bridgestone andrenalin cost a piece for 195/55/15 size?

yeah.. think i will be getting v12 evo tmrw at tek ming.. did more reading and asking after i posted that post..

i used to be a yokohama fan. from my experience, the ps3 is slightly ahead of the s.drive in performance.
different is negligible thou. choices down to lower noise of ps3.
the only moment the s.drive come out top was during heavy downpour drive.
how i wish the ps3's sidewall could be a little stiffer thou.

bought a pair of ps3 dis evening @ Rm480 with balancing + allignment...
dun reali feel exremely quiet...

what's the price for RE001 at 205 50 16? what about side profile 55 aswell?

Well I do drive fast sometimes...but of course, there's only so much speed a Vios can handle, I just want something safe that gives me good grip in all conditions.
I realised quite some body rolling when making corner (or highway exits which you have to make a big big big circle), so is it because the car is built like this, or can the tyre help it?

PS is RM200+- considered cheap for a tyre? Sorry this is my first time changing tyre LOL

im currently using PS3 for 225/40/18 ZR

time to chnage but ps3 price increased  fast from last year rm655 Klang Hin Leong and now rm790 from  the same shop.

Im now looking into other brands such as
1) Yokohama  S drive
2) Toyo TR1
3) Conti sport 2
Or any other recommend?  my bedget is rm600 or below per piece.

That's a common statement used by tyre shops to increase prices and push off old stock. This method has been used since 2 years ago. So far ive tested out the pricing over the past 1 year and found that prices have actually remained the same despite all the claims about price increases. The Michelin XM1 was priced at RM 179 back in Oct last year and now its priced at RM 175 despite 3 increases.

Dont believe what tyre shops tell you about increases. The older tyres are the more difficult it is to sell them. There will always be stock which you can bargain for but never get tyres which are more than 6 mths old.

If ure in KL, then use Tyrezone and Lim Tayar. They are competitors and if ure smart you can play them off each other to get yourself better prices.

XM1 also went up. If u go and ask Lim Tayar and Tyrezone they will quote you RM 205 for these tyres. BUt i managed to fight and nego down to RM 175

Do you think my tyre already "botak" and need new one?Currently using 205/45 16" ventus hr II and if you notice there's a wide gap between tyre and fender. Is it enough if I replace 45 with 50 to fill the gap?

If I already need to change my tyres, what is the best tyre I can get for rm250/pcs?

Yokohama A.Drive R1 look nice but wonder it have 205/50 16" size or not...

if you're on 205/45/16, stick with it. there are far more choices with that size compare to 205/50/16.
instead of changing the tires, you may play around with suspension to increase handling and looks.
btw, it's not advisable to go for long journey with bulging tires. do not risk your life.

much depend on your ride. performance cars does not use identical size to compromise on weight , power
distribution and handling.
while standard sedan car usually use an identical size on 4 side!
either way, if it was the fwd, to compensate for the differences in performance and speedo reading,
you could use one with minimal different on front and another size on rear.
in my case, am using  225/45/17 front and 235/45/17(spacer) rear. but mine was rwd, anyway.
more for handling but make sure to keep an eye on alignment / uneven tyre wear..

btw, you may not have the luxury of being able to rotate the tyres.

for 16' size the price per piece are around rm300+, lower rm200 maybe not possible to found..

maybe ur absorber out edy?
coz the one absorb the bumpy road condition is absorber while spring is to restore the ride level.. before this happen or not this problem? or just recently?

should be okay with 205/50/16. provided the suspension is not worn out.
as usual, some compromise in speedo reading / overall performance.

am using it for drift / touge' round in dry due to its dirt cheap price. slightly better than the ol' silverstone evol8 on traction.
less progressive steering feel, noisy and actually quite bad in wet.
then again, couldn't complaint much since 4pcs of atr sport 16" is still marginally cheaper than 2pcs pf ps3. 

I am not surprise since 195/50/R15 RE002 also easily RM300/pc already, a bit extra more can get semi slicks already ~_~
