Finally manage to go survey at bangi section 1 tyre shop with the big hankook signage..

user posted image

didnt have that many stock actually..
only carries v2 concept, ventus hr2 and v8rs..
evo v12 needs to be ordered cos according to shop seller its a bit pricey to the other tyres he keep stock..

for example..
195/55/15 if v2 concept its rm190 a piece, rm220 for evo 12..
quite cheap rite the v2 concept since its the latest tire from hankook with a AA rating and a whopping 500 threadwear rating! sweat.gif

other price i inquired while viewing his stock of tires:
v8rs 205/50/16 v8rs, price rm300++.. didnt inquire further since tekming is cheaper here..
ventus hr2 205/50/16 rm265
ventus hr2 205/55/16 rm270

since it was lunch hour and it was busy time for him.. didnt ask anything else.. his workers dont know much about pricing.. everytime i asked he will go kacau his boss.. doh.gif

looks like i'll be going to tekming before raya.. tongue.gif

but what do you guys think of the v2 concept? cheap but AA traction and 500 threadwear.. i was like.. WOW OMG! tongue.gif

hr2 is not listed anymore on hankook website.. obsolete?
while v2 is listed under UHP category.. same as v12 evo.. it should be a better tyre then hr2, i guess.. hopefully any1 who bought the v2 concept could share their personal exp here..

i'm thinking on changing my new Accord 2.0 from 16" to 17" or 18".
- will the change effect the FC of Accord?
- if using 17" or 18" wheels, which size suit the best? My current tyre now is 215/60R16.
- if upgrade the wheels/rims size, will it effect the comfort? Since my area road quite bumpy.
*
it will effect fc if you use bigger rims which if compared to oem rim, is much heavier.. if you go with branded/ori sports rims then they should be lighter then your oem rims thus maintaining your FC or give slightly better FC..

17" -> profile 55.. should still give you some level of comfort...
18" -> expect minimal comfort levels..

I blew up my tire due to hitting a pothole hard. SC only did alignment, not balancing. Would balancing necessary in this case ah?

Now can I just get a second-hand spare tire, since my 'spare' is now used on my car (same type with existing). Would this be a good idea?
*
yes.. if you want your tyre treadwear to be even.. also effects comfortness at high speeds..
2nd hand tires would be fine for your backup spare as long as they are not more then 3 years old.. check the manufacturing date on the tire wall when purchasing 2nd hand tires..

the falken ze912 seems nice, but the reviews damn vague..some say damn good, others say damn shit..lol
*
cos earlier batches have AA ratings.. newer ones have A rating for traction only..

speeding and whacking corner with traction class A tires? not a good thing to do bro.. always go for UHP/traction AA tires for your own safety..

17" and rm350? seem abit low on the budget side.. michelins ps3 and bridgestone andrenalin would be priced out.. i would go for hankook evo v12 or kumho ku31..

rawang would be your best bet for cheap price and ready stock.. if too far then can consider tekming in sunway.. i got my evo v12 for my neo at tekming and ku31 for my waja from rawang rim shop branch located on jalan reko, kajang..

jalan reko.. if you are from the highway and take the jalan reko exit.. at the T junction traffic lite.. take a right and heads towards the bus terminal.. kajang sentral if i'm not mistake.. half way there you will see some shop houses on your right.. look for a corner lot tyre shop with big hankook signboard.. cant recall the shop name but it has rawang in it.. kinda like stating they are a branch of one of the big rawang rim shops.. they might not have ready stock but you can order and the tire will be delivered next day..

Was it the one located on the left side just before the petronas to metro plaza?
*
nope.. here's the location on google map, search 2.966731,101.790367
its pointed on the main road but the shop is actually the inner road beside it.. there's no road in the google map since its a new shoplot area..

50 series+16" rims on my waja with stock springs = balanced -> comfort+abit of perf..

same thing now installed on my neo with sport springs = too big n heavy for my neo.. lost abit of acceleration.. gain some comfort tho.. smile.gif

i want my perf back.. dont mind a not too comfy ride for my neo..

get a 2nd hand tire from any shop near your place.. they should be better then the one sold in the puchong shop which is suppose to sell imported used tires.. those tires are actually very old tires.. some are as old as manufactured in 2001! those tires look ok at first but after using it for a few weeks, cracks will start to appear on the outer wall.. at higher speeds the tire could explode.. rclxub.gif

and those old imported 2nd hand tires are not cheap either.. they cost like rm120 a piece which is ridiculous for an old n used tire doh.gif

Hi guys ... not sure if this is the correct place to post but .. does anyone fill their tyres with nitrogen ? When i bought my rim and tyres from Klang (infamous place to change rims), they say it's good so I just pump. Now when i get back to Puchong, so damn hard to find a place to pump nitrogen. Anyone know of any place around Puchong to get nitrogen for tyres ?
*
puchong jaya area.. near brothers got a square open air car park rite? on the opposite site of the carpark got michelin tire shop.. there got nitro..

btw how long was your last fill of nitro? nitro on my ride lasted quite long before needing a check.. once i checked after 6 months (since i last filled them) when i wanted to rotate my tires and the tire pressure was off by 3-4psi only.. it leaks out real slow compared to normal air..

hi,
any sifu can have an answer for it??  icon_question.gif  icon_question.gif
*
must put front.. your front must always have grip cos if you loose control, still got some amount of maneuvering that can be done when your rear fish tailing..
if front loose grip habis laa.. icon_question.gif
