I just got a chance to test Iconia today. Who want to test it should goto ALL IT LYP. It was connected to their UNIFI so you can even test the web browser. Too bad that they already block Fb games, otherwise can test how smooth Flash gaming could be. Besides also fail to test newest Flash as I can find it but unable to install it.
While I really like the browser, I would say, wait a couple of updates, then only decide whether you want buy or not. Right now, with Android 3.01, it's pretty laggy which is really weird given that it was powered by twin turbo A9.
There is one feature that I'm really interested to see if Android will implement which would be a fullscreen app where you can swipe it like home screen to switch amongst Apps in the background or have two Apps running side by side. Definitely won't see this in my iPad, but really hope Google improve the UI to be more productive.

I tried 720p, work with software decoding but hardware decoding very lagging (no supporting codec for tegra GPU yet)
Not yet tried 1080p, guess will play with it later.
Google wont support GPU video acceleration for other format which requires licencing. Same thing with Apple what. So convert to MP4 and all will be accelerated and smooth like butter.
Whilst I understand that, I find it disappointing that my Galaxy S was able to play majority of the codecs without requiring conversion, as codec support was built in by Samsung and not part of the AOSP. Was hoping the same was true here, but as people have pointed out mobo player and mplayer do play most without issue
They just have to pay for licence fees and thats it. Nokia N8/E7/C7 also can play WMV and AVI. Many of the hardware out there are capable, but when fees are involved, they just ain't interested in paying extra which left many in the dark.
Yeah, some of the 720P would play but 1080P will be slideshow. What to do, a world dictate by money.
Need some feedback from you guys. I have 2 email accounts set up in the default email program and I noticed it only allows a combined of 50 emails in the inbox. It does initially download all emails, a few hundred of them, but after going offline, the number of emails reduces toonly a total of 50. Anyone having this problem? Any workaround on this restriction?
If phone and tablet version is same, then you should have this option in your mail. There is an option to set the mail checking by numbers of mails or number of days. If you breach the limit, those beyond these setting will not be shown. It's inside the send and receive setting.
I list down the comparison to ease your review.. hopefully this will add another iconia member..
So basically...
Ipad2 I.O.S 4.3 Vs Iconia Honeycomb 3.0
Ipad2 9.7" screen Vs Iconia 10.1" screen
Ipad2 512RAM Vs Iconia 1gb RAM
Ipad2 (various disk space) Vs Iconia (32gb + microSD)
Ipad2 no USB port Vs Iconia USB + microUSB port
Ipad 2 no HDMI port Vs Iconia HDMI port (Ipad 2 support HDMI but need to use converter)
Ipad2 no Adobe Flash support Vs Iconia Adobe Flash 10.1
Ipad2 no camera flash Vs Iconia Camera Dual LED Flash
Ipad2 WiFi 802.11 b/g/n Vs Iconia Wifi 802.11 a/b/g/n
Ipad 2 no WiFi HotSpot Vs Iconia WiFi HotSpot up to 5 devices
Ipad2 RM2000 Vs Iconia RM1500
No wonder people say Iconia is an Ipad Killer...
So any other reason to buy Ipad..??
I do not understand how Iconia gonna give you hotspot. I thought Iconia is Wifi only? It can connect to router n hotspot at the same time?
Anyway, hardware just part of the equation. Once again, Google has let down user with restricted Market. If you can't kill AppStore, you won't kill iPad.
Dude I don't know why people don't get this. A-GPS = GPS + data network assistance. This is to get better service in case of lost/weak signal. I hope this helps. XOOM, ICONIA A500 and TRANSFORMER have GPS. Some of the china models do to, the ones i know of are flytouch 3 and also the new ZTE something. Its sold in lelong if you wanna have a look. All the best and please spread the knowledge around.
Erm, A-GPS is different from GPS.
A-GPS uses cellular tower triangulation while GPS gets signal from GPS satelitte. A-GPS is not free.

Strange indeed. I could download these on day one ( ver 10.3 ) without even using Market Enabler. Your case similar to most EEE Pad users who also feedback they couldn't download Flash Player Did you enabled the Market Enabler - you need to hold down the telco ( eg TMOUSA) and select ": Fake provider" to get it to work
I played with Iconia in ALL IT and despite my best effort, you can find it but cant download it.
Anyway, do you have to fake a provider when there is no SIM to identify the provider?
I dont think this kind of advertisement works nowadays. They used the marketing team for PC and this is the result. What customer wants nowadays is a show off promotional video like those Apple did. No matter young or old, there is a saying, seeing is believing... this is very true in Asia...
