Now that the transformer's price has been announced, i've gone ahead and purchased the iconia instead. Both cost the same price ($1499 , without keyboard) Here's my reasoning.

Firstly, i ask myself what's the point of getting a keyboard and turn the transformer into a laptop if i already own a proper laptop ? If i'm going to travel out with a transformer laptop, i might as well travel with my proper laptop. I am pretty sure all potential tablet owners here already own laptops. With the novelty of the not needing the keyboard justified, i turn my attention to the tablet itself. Clearly, the transformer lacks all the extra ports the iconia has. This alone is enough to give the iconia the win. For the same price, the transformer has a better screen, but the iconia has very useful microsd & usb ports built onto the tab AND it also comes with 32gig storage versus

I'm. Having the same problem. And it looks like many others are too, on many different google devices. I think google broke the Market.

I don't think this is an iconia or honeycomb issues. Recently Google has changed the way the Market works and how devs can sell their apps. If you check online other devices and phones are having this issue.

Bro do you have to root first before doing the above? If not can give me some pointers on how to do it?

You just launch the app
First backup settings. Move to next tab select tmousa as telco. Tap to select on market access app or press down select fake provider if using market enabler. Close app. Launch market and you will see all paid apps

Aiyoh don't blame keyboard maybe your typing skills. It is close perfect I don't see any issues with it. Responsive - it is not slow and letters appear immediately

same here, although some apps can be installed without problem, even flash cannot be installed, i went download and install free apps (angry bird also) from http://www.freewarelovers.com/android/

Went down to Seng Heng to test the unit. Brought along some Thumbdrives and a 250GB 2.5" drive.

1) Some .WMV files would not play, I attribute this to file encoding probably.
2) All .mp4 files played without hitch.
3) 1080p videos could not be played (*forumer said it is a limitation of Honeycomb 3.0?)
4) Some .MKV files would not play, maybe an encoding issue again? Anyone had better luck with .MKV?
5) Reading from large thumbdrives and ext HDD sure takes some time
6) Had to try twice before the unit recognized my microSD card. Also could not find the unmount microSD option.

Last but not least, no stock By the way, you can use your Maybank Treat Points to offset part of the cost of the tablet.

The country limitation can be overcome. Follow these steps.

1) Root the device.(Don't ask how to do it..google)
2) Install Market enabler
3) disable the location and security settings (uncheck all three)
4) under the application setting, go to manage application and then look for Market. Under market, force stop and clear all data.
5) Setup US VPN account(if you dont know...thn Google) and then create a new google account through this VPN. DO NOT use the existing one.
6) Run Market enabler and use one of the us carriers settings
7) Log in to the market using this new account. Run Market and it should work now

BTW for those of you who are waiting for Asus Transformer because of the IPS panel, you would be disappointed. I have both and honestly, the screen is slightly better on my Iconia. The edges are better. The IPS panel is not like the IPad at all. I think its a low quality one. Thats what I've been reading about on the net. I don't know how to explain but believe me Iconia is better. Also in terms of speed and performance, Iconia is still way better than Xoom and Transformer. The Hnoeycomb feels like its faster on it. Just my $0.02.

I've tried the Flash games in FB and they were just fine. No noticeable lag whatsoever. Also the 3.1 update is coming soon, so for those of you who feel that there is a lag although i havent noticed any, the update should fix the "lag".

Just google for you  in forum lowyat : Use this is as a guide and modify the steps accordingly to setup account. I have friends who follow these and read Kindle ebooks on their smartphones. Try it yourself - if you have issues ask the TS as he is very helpful guy. He might not be able reply you immediately as he is always on air ( he is a pilot with MAS )
