Lenovo Y470, i7-2630QM + Nvidia GT550M@RM2999[JBL], best at the moment  rclxms.gif

Can play, just that you can only play up to medium graphic settings  nod.gif
Even netbooks with ION2 can play SC2  brows.gif

haih. sad.gif sad when budget can only stretch to fx420 price. You think among all that you suggested with the i5, fx420 is better? sad.gif

lol, I've never said the MSI is better  laugh.gif
I need to stress again that the RM2099 MSI doesn't come with Windows 7...
My advice is to get either of this:
Toshiba Satellite L645-1163X, i3-380M + ATI HD5650@RM1999
Toshiba Satellite L745-1150X, i3-2310 + Nvidia GT525M@RM1999

The GPUs are slightly better (can play at high settings [not ultra]) for SC2... Also, do take note that gaming relies more on the GPU, so you might want to focus more on the GPU

thepcharbor.com/shop/en/core-i3-inside/1003-toshiba-satellite-l745-i3-2310m-w7hp-notebook-pc.html

it says here only got intel GMA only?
So the closest price of i5 2nd gen when compared to toshiba L745, toshiba FTW?

This one: http://www.ncs.com.my/index.php?productID=2205

All Sandy Bridge processors come with Intel HD3000  nod.gif

If you're talking about gaming, then the Toshiba with ATI 5650 or Nvidia GT525m is better.
But when it comes to working, the SB i5 would be better
*
so, in my case, 2k budget, SC2, photoshop, office, this toshiba is the cheapest and better performance among all other choices?

Intel Core i3-2310M (2.10GHz)
2GB DDR3 Memory
640GB SATA HDD
NVIDIA GeForce GT525M (1GB VRAM)
14.0" WXGA HD LED (1,366 x 768)
Windows 7 Home Premium

Depends on your definition of "better performance".
It is better in terms of gaming.
But for Photoshop, an i5-2410M will of course give you faster response... so it depends on whether gaming or working is more important to you  nod.gif

If you ask me, I would get the Toshiba, upgrade the RAM to as much as you can (will help in Photoshop), then convert to 64-bit Windows7 and you'll be good to go  thumbup.gif
*
if both working and gaming are important, This toshiba plus ram is sufficient right? No free dos? hmm.gif

Yeah, ThinkPads are kind of  nice in their own way, and it depends on personal taste  nod.gif
Afaik, the ThinkPad Edge 11 comes with promotional 18 months in-home warranty (not sure whether the promotion is still going on or not)... perhaps you should ask Lenovo what the "in-home" means.. I think its almost the same as Dell's warranty coverage but I'm not very sure, do correct me if I'm wrong  notworthy.gif
Sony's warranty claims are similar to that of most brands, need to bring to the service center, and depending on the severity of the problem, it may take up to 2 months for repairs  sad.gif

otw to placing order for the toshiba L745 that you suggested. smile.gif

As for Sager, you'd have to import, and yes they're quite cheap  thumbup.gif
Do take note that there's no Sager service centres here though...  sad.gif
