If you are looking for budget lappy please look for i5 sandy bridge, it seems that i7 2630QM is not as good as i5 sandy bridge... based on scoreboard... reality im not sure... i7 is just optional...

As bro JYong stated, but on the Apple part is depending on what field your assignments are
PowerPoint other Office-related stuff are with Google Docs, iWork and such
If it's for engineering field... I'm trying to find out too hmm.gif But there is BootCamp, just a little complex.
Also it'll take some time for a Windows user to migrate to Apple no matter how much you like it.

BTW, bro Bruceleestore is selling the MBP 13" i5 version for only RM3250 nod.gif

Yes it's suitable on all cases, added complexity if Windows-stuff are needed
By the way, bruceleestore is selling MacBook Pro 13 inch with the i5 processor at RM3250 only. Cheapest you can find

Apple laptop is ok for a student, but it's too expensive sweat.gif unless you're rich then nothing i can say~but the beauty and elegance of MacBook is indisputable rclxms.gif
Let's compare~
Apple MBP 13-inch: 2.3 GHz
2.3GHz dual-core
Intel Core i5
4GB 1333MHz
320GB 5400-rpm1
Intel HD Graphics 3000
Built-in battery (7 hours)2
@RM3250
Asus A43Sv, i5-2410M + Nvidia GT540M(2GB)@RM2599, [6-cell 5200mAH]
see the different of the prices? Apple products are expensive sweat.gif

You have to look at the way that you entered the exquisite OS X laugh.gif
A lot of patented stuff are only available on the OS X, like Expose, Spaces, GarageBand, iMovie, etc
Seriously might not be for everyone and takes some time to get used to the OS X.

Calculating problem~1024bytesx1024x1024=1GB/1,073,741,824bytes...for example, a HDD stated 80GB, the 80GB stand for 80,000,000,000bytes. But in computing, 80GB=80x1,073,741,824bytes=85,899,345,920bytes. So 85,899,345,920bytes-80,000,000,000bytes =5,899,345,920bytes. Window will show 80,000,000,000bytes-5,899,345,920bytes=74,100,654,080bytes..hope you understand=.="

Yupe, I understand
This calculation problem doesn't exist on Mac OS X
Also, I like how they prioritize the files copying/moving speed.
First come first serve, later ones are just suspended

Here's some details of my requests for recommendation:

1. Brand - Anything reliable.

2. Budget - RM2650

3. Specs - Latest available specs within my budget, great battery life (hopefully more than 6 hours per charge)

4. Size - 14"

5. Use - semi-gaming and college work

Still depends on which OS you started off hmm.gif
Starting off with OS X will say that OS X is the easiest to use, and same goes to Windows users
Though migration of Windows to OS X is far more than migration of OS X to Windows (Which I think is zero)
The other day I downloaded Ubuntu and it was booming fast hmm.gif
