I am never really worried  about battery issues. All my Androids I always has 2 spare batteries as a standard support accessory. MY phone is always on charge in car and while at work/home - so I never run out of juice. The spare batteries are only use when I am out and I have no access to charging source.
And don't expect BMW performance with a Nissan Sunny fuel consumption. Guys who wishes for great power but low battery consumption - just have to wait until the battery technology improve and  just don't buy this phone if battery life is an important criteria
I also have an external battery ( 4800 maH) which is always with me - see pic below which I have attached it to my Galaxy Tab. I used it too to provide extra power to the SGS II hen the need arise - so far I used it once only when on a 5 hour bus trip
So I am well covered now. I am just waiting for Mugen or Andida to release their substitutes and as usual, I will buy 2 spare units

Seem to recall seeing it in the free section of the app market, called easy answer or fast answer button. You can try.

The external battery is Yoobao YB-602 External Battery 4800mah. I bought it at lelong.com.my for RM 119 straight buy not bidding. You can search there or at garage sales lowyat ( the last time it was listed at about RM 200). Just plug in your SGS II USB cable or any USB-micro USB cable to it to charge the phone. Definitely can charge any Android phone

The other item , the 1500mAH back battery pack  is listed in the Taiwanese website - no idea of price when avaialble. Since just reported, I believe we should see such similar appearing in ebay soon

The plugin 1900maH to the base of the SGS II is generic type and can be plug into any phone having a micro USB slot. The model I have shown is specifically for the SGS II. Those I saw at Singapore Sim Lim quite similar and comes in 2-3 type of sizes, all basically plug into bottom of phone.

but usually there are alot of chinese input from market...i usually use "google pinyin ime" which is from google...u can give it a try...

for chinese character input you have to download google pinyin

google pinyin in market is the default one, just that you have to manually download it cause not all users uses chinese input.

For Chinese input , download google pinyin - choose it as keybaord in settings/Language Keyboard
At Menu - Voice Commands app  is there.

Anyway, you can use the default keyboard for voice activated texting,  if you have another voice activated keyboard similarly can use it , eg vlingo
Or at Google search - just press the mike button - you can search using voice

This voice activations is nothing new; only the SGS II advert glorified it. I has been using these voice activations since the days Froyo was available

the reasoning would be the amount of data needed to be stored on your phone to make it work offline, and besides a hassle to update it. i prefer it being online, so on server side they can make necessary improvements with the recognition without all of the end users to download and update it.

so in 3G line...almost instant it return the result for u...
if edge...hoho...5 second maybe...

It is IMMEDIATE - you will not notice any lag. I have beeen using it for the past 6 months - absolutely no problems. Speak slowly and clearly - don't mumble
