Bump.
Students in YouTube bully clip say sorry to victim KUALA LUMPUR: Several female students who bullied their classmate seen on YouTube violently pulling and cutting off the victim's hair have apologised to her, said Federal Territory education director Mohd Adenan Deraman. He claimed that the matter was resolved by the school and parents of the students involved in the humiliation of the girl, which sparked an uproar among Facebook users. The three-minute video, which was uploaded at 3.30pm on Saturday, also showed the victim being hit with books on the head and strangled with a tie. She cried and pleaded repeatedly for the assault to stop but her classmates ignored her pleas and jeered at her. “Although it happened fairly recently, this is not a new case,” Mohd Adenan said, adding that he had asked the principal to give a full report. He said there would be further discussions on the appropriate action to be taken against the students when he meets Deputy Education Minister Datuk Dr Wee Ka Siong, the school representatives and officials of the district education office here today. Several groups have criticised the conduct of the bullies and also called for stern action against them. Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) commissioner James Nayagam urged that violent bullies be taken out of schools for rehabilitation. Sentul OCPD Asst Comm Zakaria Pagan said a relative of the victim had lodged a police report. Sauce : http://www.thestar.com.my/news/story.asp?f...4087&sec=nation |
