Hey guys, just did my 5k service, not at proton but outside workshop, i have changed:
Engine oil: Amsoil 0-30w Signature series, 5 Quart ( Slightly less than 5litres but sufficient) Cost: RM210 Oil Filter: Bought from spare parts shop, the packaging is in Proton AMP form, which stands for Proton Aftermarket Parts. Cost: RM8 Total cost: RM210+ 8 + 10(labour) = RM228 After result: Engine much more quiet Smoother acceleration Better fuel efficiency i guess |

if Proton AMP is meant for saga or iswara all those, why it fits the inspira? |

I am not arguing here, i am just curious, will saga/iswara oil filter fits? if u dun believe it. u can try when u sent back ur service on 10 K. use this.. and show ur spare part shop i borrow this photo from DM3 show u... QUOTE(Poadster @ Jun 6 2011, 03:48 PM) Been reading the Mitsu vs Proton AMP oil filter thingy and finding it amusing... I just wasted RM50 for changing to mitsubishi oil filter, and i saw this I was at one small but authorised SC doing oil change recently and they brought out Proton oil filters for Inspira. I then checked the dimensions of the Mitsu vs Proton filters, and they are the same in dimension and outlook, only diff if Mitsu filter is in black while Proton is blue... I check with the SC Manager, and was told that its the latest Proton instructions to use Proton parts when the SC have exhausted their Mitsu filters, and why would Proton not wanna use their own branded filters? So, you can ask for Mitsu oil filters when you change your oil, but you will prolly get Proton AMP filters from now on... |

QUOTE(ckk125 @ Jun 6 2011, 04:55 PM) but if im not mistaken, proton now have 2 parts, 1 is proton genuine product and another is proton AMP Proton genuine parts is just a sticker on the mitsubishi parts, while the AMP totally looks different..Nvm la, now i am assured that mine is from mitsubishi, fair enough..the former is the ones used in SC. they can know that you changed the oil filter outside and give them reasons to void your drivetrain warranty. |

QUOTE(ckk125 @ Jun 6 2011, 05:00 PM) nono.. Hmm..same as what i thought too, actually i got the Proton AMP one which isn't suppose to be there at the first place, so i guess it's a right move to change it no matter how, i think the one the other bro points out was the blue proton genuine parts i guess..The ones we use(as of now)(inspira) - from mitsu Proton genuine parts have their own oil filter(for saga, persona, waja,gen2, exora bla bla) The proton AMP is another type of spare part, also for proton cars but not by proton genuine parts. so there are 3 oil filters were are talking here. 1) Mitsu rebadged proton oil filter 2)Proton oil filter 3)Proton AMP oil filter |

greetings fellow inspira-ians,
just wanna share my experience with the loose/bottom-not-locked properly air filter fittings, i do encountered the problem after the 5k service, which the mechanic hand itchy go and open my air filter, as i am using K&N drop in, which requires no service as at 5k mileage. After the service, although for lower rpm, my engine became smooth, once i hit 3k rpm, the turbo sound come out, which scares me! I open my engine cover several time, to check if anything is wrong, which i found, after take out the air filter, saw the filter compartment wasn't connected properly(bottom), although it seems to be fine when i put on the clip! What i did was, i connect the bottom of the filter compartment properly first, before i put back my air filter, clipped it on top nicely, the sound is gone, just like that. I was like WTF, next time i wont let anyone kacau my air filter anymore!!! Hopefully it helps those who suddenly experience loud engine noise after service |

QUOTE(chyapp @ Jun 19 2011, 10:08 PM) all CF sticker lagi... ah beng wor... cheap lo... kalau mau terus transform.. jangan transform setengah tiang like that... I respect each individual's right to do whatever mods to their car, you can convert to Mitsubishi if you want, even EVO X, that's all fair and up to you.menpersia-sui la... hehehe pip-x.. i went this week.. so no see ur legendary knight rider car. But! This is just too stupid, which doesn't make sense at all, provoking as well, made Lancer's owner hate us even more. One more thing, it's V6 now, but why are there still peoples coming in, trying to bash or being sarcastic to inspira's owner, come on la guys, mitsubishi is mitsubishi, inspira is inspira, they are never the same thus comparing each other will not get you any conclusion. If you have 90k, buy inspira If you have more money, buy lancer. This post has been edited by -YS-: Jun 20 2011, 01:26 AM |
