for 3D :
-Imax The Ultimate Wave: Tahiti 3D - the color & depth is the best i watch so far ( for live action 3D title ), the documentry itself not bad either.
- Despicable Me - Colorful & 3D effect really fun to watch, particular one scene when the rocket crash toward camera, you'll feel it almost poking into your eyes ! i've played that part to my friend & he was like " HOLY S**T !!!" biggrin.gif

for 2D :
-Baraka - beautifully flimed with 10/10 perfect transfer.

I would agree with Baraka anytime. Having watched it first time on big screen many years ago, it was thrilling to see it being transferred to bluray. Awesome stuff. The best venue for Baraka unfortunately would be in Imax theatre...

I would also like to recommend the BBC Human Planet series of Bluray: Here's the trailers...

Agree! I find Dark Knight is just OK only, nothing spectacular on it. The iMax scenes is nice but too little, the normal scenes just OK.

For showing off, those dark scenes can't impress people to give you "WOW!"

Up is a nice BD to demo cause its an animation that is in native 16:9 which fills up your screen completely....

shame to have two black bars top and bottom for 21:9 formats esp if you wanna demo the SIZE factor of your expensive 65" tongue.gif

oh and Up looks fab as well! smile.gif
if you have a good sound system then the storm scene is a cracking scene!

Recommend Disney's WOW World of Wonder, a AV Calibration Suite disc.

Can show off Pixar animation, stop motion animation movie and movie to your friends whistling.gif . Be side, can test your AV system if you have.

Beside, this disc also can help you calibration your system. 2 BDs can help you in lot of ways (of course, show off in many ways too + value for money in achieve so many objectives). whistling.gif Enjoy! tongue.gif

No sure this disc got 3D movie inside or not. If yes, even better.

Baraka for audiences nowadays may seem like just 'one of the many' documentary that looks pretty. But at that time it was groundbreaking indeed. I was awed by it for more than 15 years. In fact, I kept a video cassette of it (originally from UK) during this time, until now with the bluray version.

For the baraka lovers, actually the same team of film maker made another documentary after the success of Baraka, its called Chronos.

All of you can check that out. But its no way as good as the Baraka. Too bad.
