S330D works fine with PS3... it's just that sometimes the encoding fails and your speaker might not sound at all

encoding thingy... hmmph, it doesn't support... something like AC3?
yea maybe... but what I know is that it'll just mute itself if it sees unrecognizable format (something like awesome awesome surround DTS thingy)

as a fan of Edifier I have to say

My Edifier S530D control dock...
I didn't even touch it, in fact nobody touched it also got scratches ==

since you have them listed already, go test it out see which suits your ears to know which one is best for you.
it's the only way to know which one is good (by using your ears)
since all three of them have decent build quality

in terms of functionality, C3 gets the most features,S330D gets the most basic control,R501 gets the most annoying controls ever

after getting the S530D you might wanna do a slight mod inside the subwoofer.
you need to line the walls of the subwoofer with some stuffing cuz I realize that the subwoofer do ring a little.(to me it's a huge bug for bass)


pillow stuffing,aquarium filter,or any spongy material you can find that absorbs sound.

one last thing, since this is a ported subwoofer, the channel from the speaker to the port must run freely and never let the stuffing restricts the air flow

just don't let the stuffing covering the tube/port
or not you'll stress the subwoofer speaker or cause unwanted internal vibrations

aquarium filter works but I'm not sure cuz I haven't try it yet.
I know the Edifier S530D satellites do have a good amount of those filter inside it

I've once threw a pillow in my S530D subwoofer and it works like charm. no more annoying ring ring sound
but have to take it out cuz I want that pillow
got the pillow idea from music stores that sells drums
some also had egg cartons inside their subwoofers, you can try that too

not much difference tho
but plugging in via headphone out will give you the benefit of changing volume thru your tv remote

only if your soundcard sucks badly then optical might have great improvements over ordinary analog input.

but if your soundcard is awesome and you try optical, you might hear a downgrade

had my Edifier S530D stuffed with aquarium filter on the walls and less ringing sound heard
(used to have a pillow inside but I want the pillow so I left the S530D empty inside)

sounds much cleaner and less midbass interfering
wanted to do that for so long XD

now I'm just worried that the transformer might melt and dissolve the filter from it's mild heat


I wonder why team Edifier did not have their S530D subwoofer filled with stuffings?
it sounded better this way
the S730D got stuffings but the S530D don't?
I might add more but duwanna overheat the internals

I have just enough to line the walls of the subwoofer.
I suppose one layer? but I got excess so I just stuff all in making it 1 and a half

pics will come showing what I have done to it but it's late now, not enough light to take decent pictures (and OMG I GOTZ SKOOLZ TOMORROW O.O)

nobody said you need tape anyway. look up the instructions online, none said you need tape

ohya it's just mild heat. subwoofer only gets hot if you blast
