Dear Sifu, i wanna sell my netbook but i would like to clear all the content. I would like to have the content cannot be retrievable. what software should i use to do this??

try to repair ur windows,if it doesnt work,theres no other alternative,format is the only method left.

easy, use this free software http://www.dban.org/ to completely wipe all of ur data and files. ur hard disk will be totally empty without any content left. cheers!

u heard correct. with the right software a person can retreive all of ur personal photos, video, etc.. even after u format it. that's why its important to use some software which will totally wipe ur HDD clean, like the software above I posted. a 80GB HDD took about 4 hours to wipe it clean, cause they go through many process making sure that all ur data is unretrievable

Hello,
The most common scenario for this is that the operating system itself is using the drive. For example you can't FORMAT C: if Windows itself resides on or is using C:. The only way to format a drive in use by the system is to reboot, usually from floppy, so the system isn't running.
