1. What is this number for?
It is basically TNB's customer care number.
2. So why should I call TNB's Customer Care?
If there's a power outage occurs in your housing or working area (Mention "area" means the power outage is not just affecting the premise alone but to neighbouring houses or shoplots blocks too).
3. Why should I call, shouldn't they already noe about it?
Well most of the time, these power outage happen out of the sudden (breakdown). There are many reasons for the power outage, like TNB substation or electrical cabinet vandalised, power trip or it's components burned. Their substation or specially the electrical cabinet don't have any monitoring system or network alarm, so TNB is unable to trace any power outage unless its being reported - specially in inland area.
4. Shouldn't someone report this to TNB?
Well this is how it always happen; one person thought the other person had made the report, and the other person thought the same and at the end no body make any report. This causes the effected premise or location stuck with power outage for 4-5 hours or even the whole day. Please take note that once a report is made, it will take another 2 or more hours for them to come and fix the problem.
5. What should I do?
Step 1: Call 15454
Step 2: Intro ur name
Step 3: Tell them that ur place is having a power outage by giving ur address.
Step 4: If they say that they didn't received any report in ur area, tell them u would like to make a power outage report.
Step 5: After the report is made, ask them for the report number, example U818H6.
Step 6: Wait for 1-2 hours for them to solve the problem.
Step 7: If there's still no power for couple of hours after u call, call again 15454 and ask them the report number's status.
Step 8: Once the power outage solve, start surfing Lowyat.net and rant it in /k/.
I'm not working for TNB nor their contractors, I'm just a person who experienced this problem it gave me a lot of hassle.
Cheers!
