Reason? Black borders gives better contrast to the screen and ease ur eyes when web browsing/reading and better movie experience as well... There's a reason why most TV's are black colour LOL...

Ppl who go for White are mostly going for looks and girls especially love white...

if you're into reading, black is a better choice seriously... The reflection on the white borders is a pain to the eyes compared to the black one if you look at the iPad for a long period... I can tell cause I have been playing with my gf's white iPad2 for a month now...
