I have both 3DS from US and ASI set, and they are the same except the point from the nintendo club, but for me, I would go with US set, as the US set use slightly better screen (top screen), well how I would say this, the ASI set top screen panel slightly more to "yellow"-ish, and the US set is more to "blue"-ish, if you have 2 different set you can compare it yourself, so for me I will take the US set it's look more natural for me, but im not sure why the display screen panel are different, maybe it used different screen for different region or maybe different screen for different color, as the US set i have is cosmo black and the ASI set is flame red.

As for me, I would buy the US set as the "club nintendo point" alone is worth very much, and for now, there is one good game for you can redeem in nintendo club. it's call "Metal Torrent" (until 30 May if im not mistaken), pretty good game.

To be fair, have u viewed other Asian sets to compare? It shouild be made with fair comparison of multiple units. Considering that Nintendo has one simple policy with regards to their console, which is just 1 factory.

Older set for your US and newer set for ASI? Sometimes Ninty change some of their stuff (MOBO, LCD, DLL) but same product.

Sorry to ask, since i'm stil new here and actually i'm quit interested to get one of the Nintendo 3DS soon, may i ask is there any recommended shop to buy from where i fr klang valley or any suggested game shop around with package and i heard a lot about US and ASIA ver. is there for game region? last thing how to send for warranty or any authorised Nintendo service repair in M'sia? yes, already take a look with one of my friend ASI flame red set, it using same screen with my ASI flame red, but different screen from my US cosmo black. maybe we can compare it again with multiple units on our next streetpass gathering.

@andrewcha, maybe you are right, nintendo do keep changing the hardware but it is a same 3DS machine, and I'm not sure how old my USZ set is as I bought ir a few months ago, but the ASI set is new, just bought it last week.

i got my ASI version since launch maybe can compare also

find a guy call kyoyagami. he can give you good deal for asi/u.s. set and use hypnotoad to ask you buy more stuff.

i would say android tablet serves as a better internet browsing device than a 3DS
it's just a pretty basic browser that good enough for maybe looking into game guide when u need it

oh, how about facebook or youtube ? doesn't have like app for it or anything ?

yes for mobile facebook and no for youtube
no flash no app

Only advisable for normal browsing(non image heavy) or check email.
Default browser only, no flash support.

As kenjixx suggested, tablet would be better.
Never tried to use facebook on 3DS until just now, I thought cannot support!

since its pretty much can't support flash and do mobile facebook, meaning the internet browser was basically the same with ndsi ? now thats a disappointment

games yea, at first tot of getting vita, but the game library on 3ds is just too many xD getting it next month.
maybe will get 2nd hand coz im on a tight budget, who wan sells their 3ds ?

there's plenty of people selling them on the games garage sales section
if you are lucky maybe can get one with ambassador games
