I will mind as all my devices which uses LCD don't have this issue... Apple QC has gone rock bottom...

Luckily I didn't queue for this flawed 'magical device'. Anyway, must congratulate Steve Jobs for 'conning' many customers. Either that... or his eyesight is very poor in spotting imperfections as he is well known of.

yes, all model and color have. But statistically shown that the white one is the worse case.

U want example?

My devices below:

1. Dell Venue 4.1"
2. Dell Streak 5"
3. Garmin nuvi 1460 5"
4. Garmin nuvi 205 3.5"
5. Dell E228WFP LCD monitor 22"
6. Sharp LC-32A33M TV 32"
7. Apple iPhone 3GS 3.5"
8. Apple iPad 64GB (1st Gen)
9. hp mini 311 netbook 11.6"
10. Kohjinsha tablet 7"
11. Apple Macbook Pro 13" (2010)

f***! Even my 10 year old hp Jornada 568 don't have like leak le...

Need more?

As I said earlier... QC has gone down the drain... and don't be a hardcore Apple fanboy to support a flawed product. I'm also an Apple user but I don't / won't worship Steve Jobs unlike some people...

Nope... I'm very picky and will test before purchase. If there minor light leak and not noticable... ok la. But, for iPad2, it is very obvious, how la?

not being a fanboy or saying that i support flawed products but "ALL LCD PRODUCTS HAVE LIGHT LEAK". Go google.
your eyes cannot spot la kot.

Yeah right... I can spot leakages easily. True, many products will have some leakages but not so obvious like iPad2 la... u paid RM 1.5k device and get a lemon? WTF? I just bought a new Toshiba Redza 32" LCD for RM 888 recently and after several testing (at the electrical shop), only spot 2 areas with light leakage... too minor to notice and accept lor... after all, the TV is selling less than RM 900.

I'll surprised if those cheap 7" Android tablet devices don't have light bleeding problem. Saw one... Apad or something like that and the display is perfect. No light bleeding on dark scenes but feels cheapo lor... for RM 399, what do u expect?

Oh wait. previous post u said ur all ur lcd's never have light leakage?
Yes. None except this new TV... but then again, it is the best one of the 6 units I tested before purchasing... the salesman already looking upset.

iPad2 so obvious from many angles unless u got lucky... why la? Pay so much and get a lemon? I'm sure many will return it back in a few weeks.

Even my old iPhone 2G (1st gen bought from US) don't have this bleeding issue... and that was back in 2008! The recent purchase of iPad 64GB (1st gen bought 3 weeks ago) also no bleeding. I guess Apple rushed everything into production and opt for repairs later which is still profitable for them.

Example, out of 100 units, 70 have screen bleeding problems but only 30 chose to return. The rest happy like nobody's business. To repair the 30 units work out to be cheaper for them.

I will wait a few months before getting one with hope Apple will solve this issue then. If they can deliver a perfect screen for my iPad 64GB... I'm sure they can do the same. It is a matter of time.

when it comes to Apple people always complain why apple product like this like that eventhough LCD light leak is normal thing and occurs on every gadgets with LCD. like iphone 4 la. they complain antennaegate.

weird thing is when samsung has problem with their gps chip in galaxy s and nexus s nobody seems to be bothered about it.

to say apple products is expensive is ridiculous. check other quality tablets. most of them are more expensive than the ipad 2.

That's because it is Apple... being the largest consumer products company and the one who cares about quality, people put their trust in them. when their QC drops, they become easy targets for many. People will start to sue and Apple will force to explain in details.

Samsung, Motorola, Dell or whatever manufacturers are small timers and people tend to forget everything after a few weeks. Some will even recall the product... quietly. They are not as big as Apple and their product lines don't attract consumers easily.

However, Apple is different. They hardly do recalls and chose to fight back (f***ing arrogant some more).

To you, it may be a normal thing but if other smaller manufacturer can produce a product with problem-free screen, why can't Apple? Have a look up Dell Streak, Motorola Xoom, Toshiba Folio and Blackberry Playbook. I have seen all and none have this bleeding issue. To butthurt even more, even the el-cheapo Apad also don't have bleeding issue and it is only RM 399!

Wow, you did light bleeding check on every single competitor tablet, you must have very sensitive vision lol..

Anyways, you have your points but bear in mind with all the assumptions you're making there..

Like I said... I want my money's worth... call me kiasu, kiam siap or whatever but when I pay for something more than RM 1k, it must be good. This applies to everything I buy... from cars to houses and from furnitures to gadgets. Each time, I give hell to salesman. If below RM 1k, don't care la... as long it works and have long warranty periods.

Just to update you all again with my case.

So after countless email exchanging and calls here and there, a dedicated and friendly CS head don't know from where is assign to my case.

In a nutshell, in 1-2 weeks time they will send me a brand new iPad 2 ordered from the apple online store made by the CS.
Just give my mailing address and my cc details as safety precaution just incase in 10 working days once I received my iPad 2 and I don't ship out my iPad 2 back to them.
They say they will pick it up and I don't even know how would that work.

I opt for this option cause I know virtually anywhere in Malaysia is quite hard to get stock.
So yeah people that's my case now, the waiting game again sad.gif

I hope Apple will swap a better unit for u... not repair the current one.

you guys are funny...already know there are bleeding issue but still want to buy then complain. You have the choice not to buy.  Nobody pointing gun at you to buy a bleeding screen ipad2. If you cannot accept screen bleeding then you should wait for the batch without this problem. I guess you fanboys can't wait. Can't fight the herding mentality.

People buy iPhone, iTouch or iPad for 1 reason only... cheap apps (either bought from App Store or free from somewhere). Yeah, they can always opt for RIM Playbook or Motorola Xoom but Android apps ain't cheap (if u choose to buy) and the UI takes some time getting used to.

But, that does not warrant Apple to give poor QC to loyal customers. For now, Apple should accept returns with open arms and not give customers a runaround.

wow, you can summarize all people in 1 sentence.

Anyway, Apple product and ecosystem is good. That's why people buy. But before Apple ecosystem grow, people need to buy
first. So product must be good.

The concept is good but Apple must not disappoint loyal customers. If not, once Android started to gain momentum, they will the customers to them. I'm not a fanboy but I love Apple products simply for the design and concept. Accessories plenty and affordable. However, I don't like the way Apple impose silly restrictions on a customer.
