Regarding Case Study #1, I have a personal experience similar to that, but in my case, the price change happened within a day.
So I told the CS rep that I wanted to cancel my order (although I already paid, but the item haven't shipped) and re-order because of the price change. She offered me the discount and told me it's not necessary to cancel my order.
I was very happy with the customer service and mind you, this is a foreign website. Impressed with their excellent service and that's one of the reasons I'm more willing to shop at overseas websites hehe.
Case Study #3:
I also noticed that most sellers on LYN have this disclaimer: Sellers will not be responsible for any damage/loss during shipping.
I think this clause is very unfair to buyers. It is hard to argue if you're a buyer and performed the transaction by direct transfer to the seller's bank... But by right, a seller should be responsible for any damages/item loss caused during the shipping. That is why a diligent seller will always either request the buyer to buy insurance (although the buyer can refuse) or include the insurance cost in their total selling price and purchase insurance anyway. For online transactions, if you pay by PayPal or shop at places like Ebay, you don't have to worry about such disclaimers because your purchases are protected by PayPal/Ebay and you can always claim if you don't receive your item.
