??? last minute FFK us.

If you're trying to improve of the community of sc2, why are you canceling the tournament just so because that there are unforseen technical issue?

Like that everytime there's technical issue you cancel the tournament instead of trying to solve it? How to enlarge the community of sc2 like that.

Might as well don't host in the first place then.

Why don't you make an official statement and explanation to all the players? coz I don really think this is an appropriate way for a big company e.g SMM to conduct an event. Cancel the tournament with very short notice and leave all the players in vain? they took time to practise and arrange transportation/accomodation to join and support the event.

No offence, but I don think you are handling this matters appropriate enough. smile.gif

alright, would you rather have a subang intel-gaming party repeat? where the scenario would be us asking u to go home on the event date?

we will try our best to solve the problem until the last minute , well at least not really until the tournament day, we have decided not to delay another day to solve the problem so that u can be informed earlier not to come on that particular day.

emails are already being drafted at home now and will be sent tomorrow in the morning to inform players regarding the issue. we received the news quite late in the evening today, so the admin was only able to make a short notice in the forum. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.

Find other CyberCafes to host them? Not like Blue dolphin is the only CC available in melaka/n9.

Why the facepalm? You initially said that you guys are trying to improve the community of SC2 in Malaysia by hosting these tourneys and now because of one technical issue, instead of trying to seek for other alternatives you just blame in on the CC and decide to call it off. In other way, you're trying to pull us off from trying to expand the community when you planned A, A has issues and you just tell us we did what we can but unfortunately something's wrong so no more kthxbye. No plan B? Where's the intention for the community then?

And judging by how was your first reply towards our complain saying that we are those who didn't register but just to fool around here gives me doubt that whether you really care for commitment to organize this tourney, tsk tsk. We don't complain for some shit reason, we complain because WE CARE.

With all the flaming and forumbashing aside, I really think that the SMM managers of the Tournament should be doing a much better job than having to force a last minute cancel. It really casts a shadow of doubt over the future tournaments and potential participant might question the quality of management of the event. This will then reflect upon the general Starcraft 2 community of Malaysia, which isn't something any of us want, in all seriousness.

Also Timber I really think you're being too harsh on the forumers here complaining about the cancel, preemptively browbeating somebody just because you assume he did not register isn't how one would receive criticism. True, some of us here might be empty tins talking trashtalk with nothing truly constructive to say about, but that's just the way it is and if you guys are not able to accept that, it will just make matters worse for the even, and any other upcoming events for that matter.

All in all, I truly support this event and I eventhough I have registered for the Malacca tourney and am, obviously, disappointed by the last minute cancellation, I truly hope you guys can make this event a blast in the other states smile.gif

Best regards.

I second whatever he has just said. I think he's successfully reflected what most of us are trying to say here.

i wasnt expecting this kind of harsh replies from the representative of a big organization like SMM.

was expecting a much more matured way of dealing with criticisms when something went wrong. it should at least start with an apologize IMO.

lol SMM.
i wonder if people actually get why some people (like myself) hate them to the bone, and much rather buy NA (yay collector's lol) than SEA

that said, at this point if i were given a choice again, i would still go NA, though this time SMM wouldnt be the reason as to why.

regardless, good luck on the tournament, whatever the outcome it is. as much as i hate to pay SMM a single cent, if the tourney is still going on and my friends (and myself) are joining it, it cant be helped. (whoever that wants to trash us up, feel free as the tourney for KL is august IINM, and practices done: zero)
