Harman Kardon Sound Stick III 

Budget RM800 more or less..
listen to all kind of music. Pop, Jazz, Rocks, Metals, club, Hitz etcccccccc
for pc use. 2.1 system

Asking for friends, as i'm not so good in speaker.. need suggestion

all kinds it seems...

I shall cross out Aego M because it's gonna suck with electronic music... even though many would say it's audiophile grade

but you should give it a try first
you got these choices...

Harman Kardon Soundstick 3 (plastic... but good enough for various music...)
Corsair SP2500 (gamer brand but it's good stuff) (HUGE)
Edifier S530D (may sound a bit bland but it's fun when you add the correct color) (HUGE)
Creative T3 (muddy but does well in various and compact)

JBL Creature III may sound good but for the price tag I feel that it's a little underpowered and overrated. It's quite musical I gotta say.
and that's the only JBL I know in that budget lol

it was believed Klipsch Promedia 2.1 will reach Asia market and priced around that budget too. I have never tested Promedia 2.1 series but I heard it's similar to the classic Altec Lansing sound so I assume it's bassy like the legendary Klipsch GMX A2.1...

if your friend can wait for Klipsch to arrive Malaysia I'd suggest he try it out first. Other than that... stick with the suggestions.

The Aego M is crossed out because the subwoofer of Aego M just doesn't fit in the Pop,Trance,Electro,Beats by dre series....
I'm not sure about playing rock or metal but judging by the drums in some jazz music I test with... it sounded too slow for fast paced music as well

Aego M is somewhat picky as compared to other computer speakers which can cover more range of music.
Tweaks needed to be done on Aego M to fit all music

however... if you are limiting to play only normal acoustic,live,jazz, or anything slow and gentle without the need of energy... Aego M performs like an angel.
It is an awesome sounding speaker for vocals as it makes some weird realistic creamed sound.

conclusion, Aego M can be dull at most modern music but it can be a very musical speaker on the classics
well... those are purely my opinions only so... it ends up as buyers choice to choose

Aego M is on a higher level in term of technicality.

Signature wise Aego M is more balanced and versatile while Soundstick 3 is more for mainstream music.

you have to ask yourself what 1.5k is worth to you.

What about something different 

The JBL Creature III 

if u plan to using for long time no upgrade, buy the most expensive so u wont regret.
otherwise, z23 is nice play2 a few months then sell when u see good deal to upgrade.

If you're able to put to that budget and space isn't a problem, just go for AE 5 only. It is way better from the other choices you listed.

any expensive item i bought will get 50% discount in the ears of family (not wallet )
say special offer, very worth de.. & show happy face <- most important

im not sure of the aego-m, but the larger aego-t surround set now serving me well. satisfy with general music & movie session at -12db and louder
lain2 altec & edifier etc that i bought last time no longer using them
