RM2-3k for FHD televison. Movies+Music

What do you guys recommend?

Really need a quick recommendation for best 2.1 speaker for RM200. Usage is music.

I've been through this headache before but chose C3 in the end because of the more superior music quality. SQ is a lot more natural and not as harsh as S330D. S330D seem to excel more in movies with the more superior bass.

Looking for a 2.1 system for my 50"plasma for movies and music.

Budget RM1k. Strictly not PC speakers as they do not have enough power to drive sound over a 10feet+ viewing distance

How much is the Audio Engine A3/5 roughly? And cheapest around?

Tong Lee quoted me RM1.1k for A3. Worth it?

Ohhh I asked him how much was the A3, he replied around RM1.1k

Anyway, what do you suggest for RM1k budget and slightly plus minus for movies and music?

Thanks. Btw stupid question here. Would a 5.1 system where the rear speakers placed in front instead of the back stimulate the same sound as a 2.1 system?

Reason being can hardly find decent 2.1 system and the 5.1 system has blue ray somemore, future proof also because who knows might buy blue ray and fully use the 5.1

S730 can drive sound well across 12feet+ for my living room?

Btw is the S730 really better than the Z906?

Any idea where I can get a Z5500 LOL Seems like everywhere and everyone is saying Z906 is worst than Z5500 due to many reasons mainly because of cost cutting measures.

I'm looking for a new set TBH

If really don't have, then nvm loh, I can just get Z906. Not like the difference is HUGE between the Z5500.

Just need something reasonably decent to listen too for movies and music

@power911: I think I'll get the Edifier S730 as it is an all rounder, good in music and movies. If there is a lot of details lost, I'll just pump up the volume:

My take on the pros and cons of each:

Z906
Pros: Good system, got 4.1 stereo(which I will use), compact and small
Cons: Lacking mid range

BDV-E490
Pros: Seems like a good deal. Has 3D Blu ray player, powerful RMS,
Cons: Probably cant configure to play 4.1 stereo

Is it that bad or weird if playing 5.1 sound where all the rear speakers are in front?

Z906 sounded crap. OMG. Music sucks like hell

Got myself a Sony HT set instead

Nope. Got this in the end. Sounded pretty nice for movie. Didn't manage to try MP3 btw

Also first time in my life I met a nice salesman (in Sony KLCC) with good knowledge about audio and video tech.

And finally a person who knows actually how awesome is the Kuro Plasmas rather than most salesperson who had no clue about Kuro and just say "LED better than plasma lah!"

He did mention that Pioneer sold their "tech" to Panasonic for like billions of dollars

Also taught me some stuff Friendly and willing to answer any doubts. If anyone wanna ask about Sony's HT, look out for the chinese dude with specs

This speaker has nice midrange and good vocals. But don't expect it to excel in movies as the subwoofer is a bit weak

I bought mine for about RM400. I think now price increase jor

Edifier C3 is good for vocals, good emphasize on mid range More for music rather than movies where the subwoofer may not produce the sort of loudddddddd or deeeeeeep bass you might want.

And oh btw, Edifier C3 excels when paired with a decent/good sound card. Improvement in Sound Quality is big. So, if you want to get the best out of your speakers, pair it with a decent Sound card lah
