Hi guys,

Sorry if this has been asked already but I can't seem to search any... So decided to open a thread.

I would appreciate if anyone who is really experience can recommend how frequent I should consume my 100% whey protein.

I don't workout everyday. probably twice a week.

Do I drink whey protein on daily basis even though I don't hit gym?

If I hit gym, I need to drink more?

Thanks for any help render in advance.

take the same amount of protein everyday.
does not matter whether it's from your supplement or solid food.

convert your weight from kg to lbs/pound.. example im 80kg so, im also 176 pounds.. this mean i need to take at least 176GRAM of protein evry day... easiest way is.. protein shake of course... imagine, one white egg only hav 2-3grams of protien in it... but d best way is to mix it up i believe... portein, eggs, beef, chicken, fish n others...

Boss. Not everyone's a pro bodybuilder. You need to think of economical constraints.

my minimum daily protein consumption on average is:-
at least 500 ml of low fat milk
1 chicken breast = 200g?
4 full eggs- 2 morning 2 night with whole meal bread(4 slices altogether)
and 1 scoop of whey protein after workout, or before bedtime on rest days.

im 76 kg's atm, 24% bf. friend told me to cut out all the cardio and concentrate on weights for the next couple of weeks.

hopefully it works... tongue.gif

actually 1.2-1.8 g / kg of bodyweigt is sufficient protein for training person. Bodybuilders can go higher a bit like 1.8 to 2.2 g/kg. Do not take too much. If you take too much protein, you have less room to eat carb an fat

More like

500 ml milk 25g protein
4 eggs 24g protein

Total he's eating: 100-110g protein. Not taking into account the other stuff which he's eating that has some protein i.e rice.

You do know there's also protein in oats, brown rice, white rice, bread, etc right? And it's also the amount of calories you get in which will determine whether you grow or not. What's the point of taking in so much protein when cals are so little?

yeah, i do eat other stuff throughout the day like:-
apples, sweet potato, broccoli and carrots with chicken, limit myself to 1 chocolate a day max (habit im trying so very hard to kick tongue.gif), and nuts.

what other calorie dense food would you recommend? cos i too doubt that im hitting the calories that im supposed too.
at most maybe 1800-2200. though my bmr is 1800, so pretty sure im suppose to eat way more than that to grow.

dont say rice. rice scares the crap outta me.

What's wrong with rice?? Carbs are not your enemy. Do you know how much carbs me and Kmaru are eating? Lol... I've seen him mention his diet too.

Quote from a site, can't remember the name:-
Carbohydrates are the preferred energy source for most of the organs and tissues of the body. They have a potent effect on the metabolism, both in the short-term and long-term. Carbohydrates stimulate the release of insulin, which blocks stored fat release from fat cells; insulin also affects the muscle metabolism, switching the preferred fuel from fatty acids to sugar burning.13,14 For the drug-free bodybuilder, it is necessary to control insulin, keeping its concentration low throughout the day— with two exceptions. There are two metabolic ‘windows’ where a drug-free bodybuilder should take advantage of insulin’s anti-catabolic effect— early morning and post-workout.

Bro I believe thats true for people who have muscle mass wink.gif
not for obese smile.gif

It is true that you need carbs to synthesis protien efficiently but overdosage of carbs will lead to storage of fats as carbs will fill up ur glycogen and eventually it will turn into fats

however protien even if overdosage it is still harder to turn into fats if ur working out moderately smile.gif

end to it i guess it depends on the goal, whether u wanna look lean or u wanna be big wink.gif

personally i dont wnana be big ;P just wanna stay lean and thin
