Isn't the whole point of COD means the seller is reliable or at minimum is willing to let you see and test before purchase? Else, you can buy online and have it delivered to you.

I mean their after sales service & etc.

q10pro/q5pro... congrats n enjoy!

u get the best features with firmware 2.0.6, bluraymode.apk, imprex engine on, player settings 24hz on, and kodi 17.5.

do not bother to install astrogo and hyppeverywhere - they will not work; iflix will work.
wireless mouse... should work, just plug the receiver into one of the usb ports, nothing else to do.
check battery! if new mouse, u need to remove the paper blocker inside the transmitter (mouse).

Dude you're a good guy, sharing your knowledge thumbup.gif

Thanks for your advise! Will check out firmware & apk you recommended.

You use Kodi as main player to play your BDMV?

there have been changes with himedia boxes over the years when it comes to BDMV/BD ISO.

go back 6 years, they already can play BDMV DTSHDMA, DDtrueHD - with native player, not Kodi player.
go back 3 years, they can play DD Atmos as well but not DTSX - with native player, not Kodi player.

himedia since 3 years ago decided to go international, got Futeko as main distributor in UK for europe.
the customers there want playback with Kodi player as many want the extras - thumbnails, categorization, etc.
they also want facebook, skype and youtube 1080p/4k in the firmware (and dun care about astrogo, hyppe'where. biggrin.gif ).
so, u can see where that led to.

comes Q5/Q10pro... with latest firmware, u get a wrapper to "wrap" a local playback with kodi to push it thru native himedia player.
this is quite clever: no need to deal with kodi issues while all the extras are fine; actually playing with native player with imprex2 engine.
with auto frame switching, HDR, ddatmos, dtsx capabilities too.

kodi 17.5 made it possible for Q5/Q10pro to stream online with DD/DD+ and DTS transcoding to DD (i like this one very much.).
with earlier versions kodi 17.0-17.4, u can only get AAC2.0.
but there is still one more challenge - can't do DTS/DTSHDMA pass through for kodi online streams yet.

firmware 2.0.6 also offers full BD menu for 1080p and 4K - i love this one  but no use for those who dun play BDMV.

me, i am used to fast and easy local playback, never go thru kodi.
so, i do file manager or media center to get to native player for my own files - like it fast n easy.
*
I'm using AVR that support DTSHDMA so i will stick with the native player.

I did not get the full BD menu thou, maybe not the latest firmware, where can i download the latest firmware? Can update from the box itself or need to download?

Also how do we install ipk? Any link to share?

Thanks mate

What firmware do u hv now?

If in doubt, try contacting seller, he should know what he sold u.

Just checked my firmware, its version 205 & do not have BD menu.

Is there any way i can download & update the firmware by myself? Otherwise need to send back to seller which means need to travel.

Just done all the settings & calibration on my TV & sound system, this player exceeded my expectations on audio & video, loving it!

if new to such a device, it would be useful to get some help in the beginning.
longer term, u will hv to DIY.
the learning process will take time... fumble, mistakes, etc... all of us started that way.

if 2.0.5, the bluray patch may be already installed, perhaps not opened yet.
go to settings, more, apps... find it, open.

u can find what u want here:
http://www.futeko.com/newforum/index.php?board=14.0
take time to read, esp the instructions.
becos i read many users screw up becos they don't read!

Thanks man, As from what i understand, if i don't use Kodi i will be just good be using the official firmware from Himedia? By using the native player?

If i wants to use Kodi then the custom firmware will be better as it comes with more features?

Thanks bud!

the customized firmware from futeko... i do not know much but i can see it gives a diff UI, a few additional features like power control.
and i think it fine tunes the autoframe switching feature.
i don't think it changed kodi app in any major way, except it was able to do aac5.1 for online streams.
but that is moot now as current kodi 17.5 allows dd/dd+5.1 unlike previous versions.

there is also another customized firmware to go androidtv - i may try it one day when i feel up to it! tongue.gif
frankly, unless u r well versed with these matters and know exactly what u r doing, better not do it.

for local playback, you can just use the native player - easier, faster.

Don't worry mate, i used to upgrade firmware on my previous media players.

Just that I never use any android player before therefor asking.

In fact i use it mainly to playback files that i downloaded to my NAS.

Anyway thanks a lot
