Hello. Im new here and own a Hi media 910A. I bought this to replace a Popcorn Hour B110 from 2008. I expected a lot from the 910A due to the newer chipset and many extra features but am let down by its non ability to play 3D files and other HD files with HD audio, played via the network or directly from a usb3 drive directly connected.
I upgraded my network to 10/100/1000 recently and this has made no difference. Support for this product is as bad as it was from Popcorn Hour with the B110. I have gone back to the B110 as it plays all the files the 910A refuses to play correctly, via the network. Himedia need to support their products.

as we knw 910a for support 3d file(even ori 3d iso file) n current mostly hd flie n hd audio is ok de, can u provide sum details inform about ur file which it not support de

via the network u mean is network share izzit? 910a lan port max can reach is 100mbs only, performance is not very good, for small file is ok, but if is big hd file sure will be lagging de.. but play direclty use usb should be no problem de

Thank you for your reply. Titanic 3D is one title that has audio drop out when played from a BMDV folder or a rip to M2TS, .ts or .mkv with DTS MA audio. All these files play perfect on my 5 year old Popcorn Hour B110 that has a 100mb network. The B110 will not play the BMDV folder directly, one reason I upgraded. Himedia need to fix this issue that many others report, but they dont seem willing to do so. I wont make a Chineese purchase again.

yes, for streaming those hd file use samba or nfs is not good de, but if u play from hdd should be no problem de..maybe u should try other "english purchase" which player same use realtek 1186 chipset see wuts the result then say it is chipset issues or himedia problem..

Popcorn Hour B110 price at least treble than 910a, even more than 4 years but hardware spec still is better de, like rm300+ price range 910a can support 3d file(even ori 3d iso file) n current mostly hd flie n hd audio, also directly play BDMV or ISO file from external hdd..this price can do those function is quite good ady (dnt expect it can do eveything)

i also have a Popcorn Hour C200 at home, yes it audio output is great, but now quite lot bd file can not decode ady, but 910a all can support..

u maybe can wait the new sigma chipset player which can support 3d file, i heard it coming soon ady....

Thanks again. Just to say that my B110 plays 3D files fine.

I use the HD900A for more than a year already and so far I didn't experience the audio drop out issue from the BDMV or BD-ISO . Instead, my Dune HD D1 can't stream some of the HD audio from my M2TS file while HD900A can bit-stream the same file without problem..

Can you please give me some idea as to what I am doing wrong.

Thanks for the info.
I am also interested to get a Realtek 1186 player because I have MKV with DTS HDMA audio. After reading your comment, I'm now very worried. Does this audio drop out issue happen to all 1186 players?

It does play dts hdma on some files just fine mainly non 3D. Its really the lack of support from Himedia that should be considered before buying. The last update was July 2012.

play a real 3D movie, must have below device: a 3D TV (with 1.4v hdmi port), a 3d blu-ray player or 3d media player (with 1.4v hdmi port), a amplifier which support 3d n a ori 3d disk or ori 3d iso (bdmv) file...less one is not possible to play real 3d movie de...

those left-right, up-down or red n blue file just is simulation of 3D, not real 3d file, output quality is different de..(currently media player only got realtek 1186 chipset can play real 3d file de, sigma chipset still can not de)

the latest himedia hd900 firmware (2013.01.06) can download here: http://v.himedia-tech.cn/himedia/hd900/201..._1.0.5.7.tar.gz
hd600 lastest firmware: http://v.himedia-tech.cn/himedia/hd600/201...1.0.8.14.tar.gz
hd900 in market more than 18 month ady (hd600 more than 2 years), u cant expect a player over a year still every month can get new firmware de (most brand after half year ady stop provide the firmware support), pls do sum research before do complain lack of support from Himedia..

about the audio drop out so far i test my 6tb 3d database is ok de (3d Titanic i also have iso, mkv version, 3diso with DTS HDMA audio output dnt have any problem), but cant guarantee maybe got few source will happen de..(cant just say coz u have 1 or 2 source audio drop out then hd900 play movie will audio drop out de, better test another 1186 chipset player try the same movie file then see wut happen 1st)

With respect, my B110 outputs side by side 3D files, size 30gig with DTS HD MA audio, through my Yamaha RX-V1800 1.3 amp, through my Neet HDMI splitter and on to my Epson TW6000 3D projector, using 1.3 HDMI cables. There is no audio dropout. I have updated the 910A with the file above and the audio dropout is still present. Apart from Chineese movies and Chineese weather forcast, what does this new update do?
