Just get HiMedia HD900A with the latest Firmware Version 1.0.2.16.
How do I set the player to play files in its native format? I think my TV/receiver have a better upscaling than Realtek. Thanks.

QUOTE(gkl83 @ Jan 10 2012, 08:12 AM) You have to set the video output resolution in the setup. Say you set it to 1080p, all videos will be output in 1080p regardless of its native resolution.Tested with a couple of 720p files, all get upscale to 1080p. I am sure many of us would prefer to have the option to output in native resolution and use external scalers for this. Is there a way to get this done? Or we have to make a feature request? |

I am using HD900A no wifi version. There is a coaxial output instead of the wifi connector. But I can't make it works. I doubt this is only a dummy interface.

QUOTE(numbertwo @ Mar 28 2012, 10:30 AM) I have finally installed a giga switch behind the router, and here is the speed that shows on the tv when I'm accessing the mkv from my nas via cat5e: I have similar reading. In fact, most of the time it only shows around 70k kbps.600A -> Giga Switch -> 100M Router NAS -> Giga switch ![]() Any one of you getting a higher Kbps? Previously, without the Giga switch, all devices are plugged into the 100M Router..the speed was just about 50000+ Kbps/sec .. so now it is virtually double the performance... going to download a bluray mkv to test it out soon.. You should have no problem streaming bluray mkv even in 100Mbps switch. My problem is network streaming 3D BD ISO. Even with a Gigabit switch, the audio jerks, especially for files that is over 35GB. Audio is only good for few seconds after I pause/play the video before it jerks again. I don't have problem with BD25 ISO. Audio is fine for 40GB+ 3D ISO when I connect external HDD to the USB port. One thing I am certain is the external HDD is definitely slower than the network HDD. I suspect this is due to the hardware limitation. Not sure if anyone else face this problem? Hope a firmware update can help. I have quite a number of BD ISO that I can't watch due to the audio decode jerking. This post has been edited by otnuus: Apr 12 2012, 01:37 PM |

QUOTE(sschen @ Apr 12 2012, 03:54 PM) I have similar problems before with streaming BD ISO. A solution I found is to extract the ISO onto their blu-ray file structures (BDMV folder etc). Since then, I don't have any problem streaming both BDRips for both 25GB or 50GB disks. Now I rip the file structures directly instead of ripping to ISO. Thanks for the info sschen. One thing I noticed from the HiMedia Player is when I enabled auto play for BDMV folder structure, the player automatically play the first BDMV folder in that particular drive. Say I have few movies with BDMV structure in a single drive, I have to disabled auto play for BDMV, go into a particular movie folder, then go into setup and enabled the auto play. This is really troublesome! Is there a workaround for this? Added on April 20, 2012, 11:20 amI'm not sure if I have done it correctly. When I rip the 3D BDMV folder into my HDD, there is a SSIF directory. The whole BDMV folder takes up twice as much storage compared to ISO. QUOTE(DArkBat @ Apr 20 2012, 06:31 PM) Guys, Try set HDMI -> auto, the rest -> RAW.I'm seems to be having problem with HD900A. My connection is like this. HD900A to LED TV via HDMI. HD900A to Home Theater via SPDIF. My Audio setting in HD900A is HDMI -> LPCM and SPDIF -> RAW My problem is like this, if i'm playing movie that have DTS, my home theater will have superb sound. But....If i'm playing movie that is AAC 5.1 , my home theater got no sound at all. I'm sure that my home theater do support AAC as if i play that particular movie via my home theater system, the AAC 5.1 sound is there. Only if play via HD900A, AAC movie got no sound at all. Only if i set HD900A audio setting AAC -> PCM, then only i will have sound. Do HD900A support AAC ? as stated in description and website, it does. Is there something wrong with my players ? |

QUOTE(Will.i.am.Smith @ Jul 31 2012, 02:41 PM) Which model do you refer to?I am using HD900A and set the audio output to RAW. No problem bitstream DTS HD track to receiver. Realtek chipset going to be the weakest link in your setup... |
