Noted... so you recommended go for AC Ryan HD2 mini for better built quality?

Himedia 900b user here.

The pros:
3D BDMV / ISO playback works for most if not all the time. If it doesnt work, its most probably due to wrong encoding and/or require firmware update. File copying made easy with USB slave port and also through direct SATA connection. Extremely easy to remove / install hard disk. Custom firmware has just started not long ago with YAMJ coming real soon, check Futeko forum.

The cons:
Had never been able to view the BD lite menu even with numerous settings. Certain audio decoding can have too much echo (so far encountered with MKV file with AAC audio), again it usually firmware issue (same video plays fine on PC). Menu GUI cannot compare with AC Ryan or WD TV; very simple and straight forward design.

1185 vs 1186 - For direct no nonsense 3D playback on TV, 1186 is better else gotta make sure video file is encoded with SBS 3D method for the 1185.

tried with latest firmware to solve the audio echo issues?

anyway, i dont mind about the GUI since i not "watching" the GUI...
the movie experience is the most important such as picture quality, audio clarity and video lag-free.. smile.gif

havent tried the latest .3.2 firmware yet. the echo isnt that bad as if in a very big cave; noticable but not annoying.

On PQ, as long as its not playing 720p then its fine. There will be slight ghosting with fast paced shots on 720p playback though.

SQ, Im on composite RCA but so far what Ive read on forums is that the volume output of the 900b is not very high. With the volume set max on the 900b, amplifier volume got to be increased more than normal level.

ie. Watching Astro / BluRay player, amp volume at 40 / 100. To match same loudness on 900b, amp volume have to increase to > 40. Not sure if the gains are maxed out in the firmware.
