Getting quite tired of having to change from HM remote to wired mouse and vice versa. Takes the enjoyment out of watching the shows.

After some look-see on the web, planning to get a Logitech K400 or K400+ or K400r.

Appreciate feedback from those who are using one of the above 3 - best 2 points and worst 2 points on the keyboard.

If you know of a better keyboard for HMedia use, please drop a line here.

Thanks.

P/S I am using HM H8 2+16 quad.

Don't use wired mouse, use wireless mouse.

That, together with the remote is good, can do everything.

I use that for 3years now.

I have a mele keyboard mouse hardly used... Keys are too small for my fat fingers. biggrin.gif

Same thing. Bought the Q10 pro from digital mall philips kiosk last sunday. Came home to try setup kodi. It requires lots of inputing of website which the remote is not meant for it. So i connected a wired mouse to make inputting keyboard easier. Still it's not very fast as the keyboard interface is laggy. Like i need to wait half a second before input the next key. So no fast typing allowed. However, in youtube video i saw some guide videos where they can input keys and it appear as fast as computer keyboard input. Wonder how is that done. The constant switch between mouse and remote is tiresome. Some function require remote, such as menu button to load profile, to delete file, to swap subtitles etc. Some addon can only be clicked with mouse, the remote totally cannot access it. Is there a good all rounder where I can control it all in one for Himedia Q10 pro?

To the guy who getting K400r. What is your review of it?

if u have to set up everything by yourself, then it can quite a task.

once it's all set up, mouse+remote can do most of the job for normal usage.

keyboard mouse... some like it, some don't.

Found this klang valley seller for the remote. Any users here already use this model of remote? Any comment about the remote?

When I first launched my Q10 pro, I will be going into the android home page. From there I can add icons to be put on the home page as I can use the + button. the sizes of the buttons seems to vary. How to resize those buttons and how to remove some buttons?

You did not get Q10 Pro from Nicety? His units are 99% all set up, ready for use.

I think Q5 Pro is about the same as Q10 Pro. I am using Q5 Pro.

To remove the buttons, say the buttons with ABC, XYZ are the ones you do not want, click on + button, a new page showing all the selections will appear, go to ABC & XYZ and click on their tick marks to deselect.

In Q5 & Q10, noted that one can have more than 6 buttons. In H8, it is limited to 6 buttons.

I bought mine from digital mall. He also has a thread here in lowyat forum: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1462384

Did texted him in whatsapp post purchase about some stuff but wasn't as responsive as pre purchase. When I asked where his shop was the response time was immediate. he just responded to my message so he's alright.

Thanks for the pointers on how to remove buttons. Yeah, when i click the + buttons it brings a new page showing all selection. I actually added buttons to my home page using that + button. Just didn't expect to delete button i have to go through the + button too. Not exactly intuitive.

How about resizing the buttons? Right now my file manager button is so huge, it looks like the kodi button in the picture i attach below, and kodi button is small, at the bottom row since i added it. wanna make kodi button the biggest button instead.

I saw in kodi thread people discussing about HDP. I kind of figured out it is an app that is unrelated to kodi. Is the latest HDP version 2.1.5? I found a website to download v2.1.5 but didn't proceed yet cause i saw forum mentioning possible virus with 2.1.5.

Hdp used to be a great app but lately, it has been rejected by the security feature of some devices, supposedly becos it hijacks the device user interface. Still, i have it have it working good on one device but not another.

Hdp comes in two versions. The one u mentioned has a blue logo, is the main one, china channels only, rejected by some devices.

There is a variant, yellow logo. This one is unstable, has china and many intl channels, test channels. Changes frequently, sometimes all work, sometimes none work.

Due to these issues, i suggest u go for other china apps like tvplus2.0. If your seller cant help u,  u can google shafa.com. hope u read chinese.
Note all these apps like hdp and tvplus2.0 work on all androids, boxes or tablets or phones.

My seller actually already installed tv plus 2.0 for me. And i find this app very good. Channels are clear. So since TV plus 2.0 is better than hdp, i wont bother to go install hdp. Thanks for the comparison info.

Install a different launcher... One more customizable. There are many choices in the Play Store.

Thanks, i scour the internet yesterday and it seems the only way is the install a launcher. The default himedia homepage does not offer much customisation. I could only really add icons at the bottom row. The main top icon is pretty much fixed. Any addition of icons will just stretch the page longer.

3rd party launchers incl nova and apex are free, makes it look like a pc desktop.

Or u can keep the default himedia launcher, use the fast key option which i quite sure is in q10pro.

Say, u programmed 1 as kodi.

When the launcher comes on, just press 1 on the remote, u get to kodi direct.

Just one keystroke.

How to program fast key? In the himedia booklet didn't mention about this function. Just ordered the MX3 air mouse, should come this week.

bought the mx3 air mouse. In the end, i think the original himedia remote is still easier to use. Just not easy when need to type in stuff. Whenever i need to type in text, then the air mouse is better because of the qwerty keyboard. Other than that simple operation the himedia remote more comfy to press.

Bought a Himedia Q10 pro from the PJ digital mall seller CCS221 late 2016. Then realized the android TV box stopped working sometime early 2017, just slightly over a year of very light usage. When i try to turn on, only the white ring led is on, but cannot boot into the machine. Brought it back to the shop, they said will send it back to china. Sadly, since it's just like a couple of months over the 1 year period, no more warranty. Was told motherboard error, and the cost of fixing it is the same cost of buying a new one. Lesson learnt, himedia product are not durable and maybe avoid buying the higher end units. If it's the cheaper unit, then rosak also minimal lost. The Q10 pro cost me like RM 680 and just total lost right after one year.
