I bought the Himedia H8 to stream TV and to play my HD movies on hard disks. Previously used a Minix and out of the box, my HD movies played fine using XMBC. Menu navigation within XBMC was also smooth. On the H8 however, with Kodi Isengard, some movies stuttered whilst playing. It'll play fine but every 5 seconds or so the video would stutter for a second and resume. Bear in mind this is played from a hard disk and not streamed. I've tried enabling the different types of hardware acceleration within Kodi but the problem still persists. Anyone else face this problem?

QUOTE(voncrane @ Oct 19 2015, 07:55 PM) In addition, you can force KODI to use external players on android instead of its default player ( How-To). It involves creating an xml file and saved in your userdata folder. Try looking into that. Should work for local files & possibly streaming videos as well. KODI & Minix FTW! Sorry, just had to... I'm a Minix fan too, unfortunately there's no 4k@60hz support in Minix. The Himedia H8 has it.

OK, so I decided to put the H8 up for sale so that I can get a Minix X8-H Plus instead. Those interested can PM me. https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3749864
