Hi guys, I have a Himedia Q5ii I bought about 2 years ago, updated to 1.0.7 last year. All this while no problem, suddenly this morning cannot switch on. Still have lights on the button and network ports blinking, but the LED display and HDMI output nothing.
Any troubleshooting tips? Or time to get new one?

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Nov 23 2015, 01:34 PM) led display losing some dots is possible. but if whole display gone and hdmi no output, not a good sign. try checking the connections again. last resort, consider flashing the unit and reinstall firmware 107 with the restore pin - but this will erase everything inside - hope u hv backup. if no good, then likely hardware failure. which will the first case i know of. i have q5ii >2 yrs, still very good. I don't have any problems reinstalling the firmware, as most of my stuff are in external HDD anyway. What's a restore pin? I know how to use recovery on phones for rooting etc but android TV is just... alien to me... I'd love to continue using my q5ii, very reliable up to now!

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Nov 23 2015, 04:54 PM) at the side of the device where the usb slots are, there is a pin hole labeled "restore". insert a usb drive with the firmware at root level. when ready, push a pin or toothpick into that restore and hold it while u turn device on. this method to erases everything in it, install fresh firmware. after that, u need to to reinstall the apps from a backup if u hv one. Thanks for the help bro. I've tried this and still nothing. Just weird sounds coming from the player. I guess it's time to say goodbye to my Q5ii.. thanks for all the good times we had.
