Hi Guys, Q8 owner here. I just updated the firmware to HMD-3.0.4 and now I mkv files have no sound. It used to be able to play the file without issues. I though updating the firmware will allow me to play 10bit H265 encoding but sadly no Is there a way to revert back to the old firmware? I try searching but only found the latest firmware available for download. Thanks. *Update: Perform fresh installation of the firmware resolve the issue. But still unable to play H265 files This post has been edited by cllee86: Jun 4 2017, 10:54 PM

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jun 5 2017, 10:18 AM) your box is old. it will NOT play hevc or h265. it will also not play 10bit and HDR. Yea but saw H.265 support on their website. It gave me false hope http://www.himediatech.com/q8.html

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jun 5 2017, 06:52 PM) Hevc or h265 has been around for a few years. There have been many versions. Yr box android 4.4 can play older versions of h265, not the current versions. This applies to many other boxes of same age and android version. Consider a new box, q5pro or q10pro, they will play anything, afaik. Yea have to buy a new box if I wanted to play H265. Anyone here wanna buy my old Q8

QUOTE(voncrane @ Jun 7 2017, 07:11 PM) Haha, nice try buddy. Advertise it in the garage sales section. Who knows, someone with simpler needs might just come and grab it. Add to the proceeds and get a better device.. Hehe..hopefully got someone out there with simpler needs

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jun 7 2017, 07:40 PM) I am not entirely sure of this q8 model which is not common locally. But i would think it is somewhere between q5ii and q16. It should playback most files incl bdmv, iso, hd audio. And ok with all popular apps except kodi17. Just cant do 4k, 10 bit, hdr, some hevc. It has KODI. Even though I don't know how to use it It can support most of the file except H265, HEVC or 10bit. Youtube playback is terrible though..super lag even for 720p videos..
