Hi guys,

I had recently bought HD900a from Digital mall and kind of dissapointed with it;

(1) All IP TV features kind of fail to play... Maybe too slow. I have Unifi 5mbps. And no other internet activity during testing

(2) video playback quality suck. It is clearly inferior as compare to my Samsung built in player. video is blocky... And contrast unnatural high... Kind of like Nikon camera. Basically it make my 10GB files playback looks as 1 or 2 GB files....

Is it normal experinces?

Does this firmware works with H900A?

Which firmware best for H900A? I realised mine is still 5501 as its kernel.

Just bought a pair of interconnect cable today for my new 600A to my NAD stereo amp. Previously 600A to TV via HDMI, then from TV analogue out to amp.

New finding -> HiMedia 600A built-in DAC suck big time, no details, worst then my Samsung built in DAC. And the bass is too heavy.

Well, anyway, DAC is not HiMedia's strength in any sense. Just a sharing.

Solution -> Should I get a separate DAC or a new amp like Marantz 6005 with built in DAC. hmm.gif

Hi,

I am a serious problem with my Q6ii where with some titles of DTS sound, there will be loud explosive sound just a second. Usually one movie only has one second each of that disturbing sound. It is repeatable with the same movies. When tested with my other two HiMedia 600 and 900, no issue. My handphone also no such issue.

How can I solve it?

u mean playback media file via usb using media center?
Stream files via NAS and gigabit network.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 20 2014, 12:33 AM)
the loud sound always happen at the same spot of the movie if u play again and again?
Yes.

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 20 2014, 12:33 AM)
can check the sound settings... hdmi, spdif see if set correct for yr sound system
It is using raw via HDMI and let my AVR decode. Or else cannot enjoy surroud sound ya. sweat.gif

i wudn't be able to comment on nas and gigabit network...

but i can share...
if the same noise comes at same spot everytime, i wud suspect the file is corrupted.
i have experienced disturbances like this on one player and not on another.
some players have decoders superior than others.
or it could be bad sectors in yr drive.
i just had one big file behaving like that - ok on one player, not on another. ok on one drive, not on another.
to be complete, clean up the drive, get another version of the file, problem was solved.

Well, it certainly is not the file curroption for the following reasons;

(1) I have another 2 media players, also from HiMedia 600A and 900A, no issue for the same files
(2) Video section are not curropted at all
(3) Computers, laptop, handphone, tablets all screaming files without issue.

The only one having issue is the Q6ii. And I believe it is a bug from extracting the raw sound stream into HDMI.

I am a Q6 ii user, here is some questions;

(1) What's the latest firmware to upgrade? and where to download the good one?
(2) Can it support Bluetooth so I can use my Bluetooth headphone? If not, can I plug in a USB BT into the player?

Hi,

I already have and still using 3x HiMedia player. The latest being Q6ii. But disappointedly, the Q6ii is lagging for playing back H265 contents at Full HD. It also failed to playback simple 4k video that recorded from my Samsung Note.

Thus now I am looking for a new player that can fulfill my requirement;

Mandatory
======
Able to playback 4k MP4 smoothly from Samsung Note.
Able to playback H265 contents smoothly at Full HD.
Must have digital coaxis output.
Capable to output at 4k / HDMI 2

Optional
=====
Need RJ45 gigabit LAN connection
Able to playback Canon dSLR recorded video at Full HD smoothly
Able to decode Dolby HD? Maybe impossible... hmm.gif
If no Wifi and no optical output even better... Those are hopeless. shakehead.gif

Questions
======
Which Bluetooth USB adapter is supported for the player? How about Q6ii? notworthy.gif

Just read a few pages back, few suggestions that meet your mandatory & optional requirements... Bluetooth USB adapter? Most boxes if not all, come with Bluetooth hardware installed. Difference would be what version.

my Q6ii no Bluetooth... cry.gif

So any suggestion to my requirement? Q5iii? hmm.gif

any idea which one is faster? Example, if I have H265 4k contents, which one will lag less? Q5iii or H8? hmm.gif
