QPR and Norwich are almost there.

I would say Leeds for winning play off but N.Forest and Cardiff a good shout

Swansea would be nice addition.

Elland Road will be massive if they return to EPL laugh.gif

For sentimental value and history, for me I want Leeds and Nottingham Forest back in BPL.

The other for me, Millwall just for the sake of their fans - London derby could be interesting brows.gif

Cardiff would be good, i would say the Malaysian fan base will increase if it enters BPL. Leeds would be good too, they can make it a stay in BPL if they go up.

If Cardiff promoted, we might see some Malaysian youngster play at their academy flex.gif

Like Thailand sent their youngster to Man City when Thaksin is the owner. We are better than Thailand right now, we won AFF and Sea Games laugh.gif

Well, good to see many comments in this poll..really like the interest of football fans who are not just top 4 clubs related chat or BPL focussed..

Update is that if QPR win against Hull City on Monday (25/4), they will win one of the two automatic promotion places..so lets wait for the result of that match..could be a return to the Premier League for the R's..

Not a Leeds fan but it would be nice to see them back in BPL. It's sad to see a club with Leeds quality not playing in the BPL. Same goes to Newcastle, it's good to see them back in BPL.

Amongst a host of other things.

Just the thought of how much more he'll make if Cardiff make it to the Premiership is upsetting. It's the only reason I don't want to see them promoted.

Tell you what. The Den is probably the stadium I'd least like to visit. Hooliganism is still pretty much prevelant and it's long history of violence stretches up until this very day. In 2004 when Liverpool visited, their fans goaded ours by signing about Hillsborough. This eventually led to a clash involving both supporters. Not a place fans would want to visit either.

to normal people it may sound like a slump... but to those adrenaline junkie who need a way to express their passion and aggression and consented to those violence, a tie vs Millwall will be the best match-up you can get..

I will note on the 1st page who are MATHEMATICALLY promoted and have a chance of a play off spot..n also who are out of the running..although QPR are as good as promoted, I will only note it when everything is guaranteed..

BTW, i wanna see QPR, Cardiff and Forest in the BPL next season..QPR coz its been a while since they were in..although EPL team have visited Loftus Road recently when Fulham rented it while Craven Cottage was renovated..Cardiff because it gives the EPL something different..a newcomer and a Welsh one at that..and of course Malaysian links..I desperately want to see Forest back..I loved their stadium the City ground..and the history ht club has and the potential renewals of their rivalries will bring back nostalgia of the early Premier League days..

I agree with u that these two clubs are 'beasts', but I think that it might only be true now because of their names..dont know how they would perform in the BPL nowadays..especially Leeds..Forest came close last season..finished 3rd behind Newcastle and West Brom but lost out to Blackpool in the play-off semi-finals..would love to see them back..

Don't think the capacity directly reflects the size of the pitch highbury was said to be narrow despite being bigger than Championship stadiums. I'm not sure what the FA regulations are, but there is a minimum requirement. If anything, expanding the stadiums benefits the home team as it translates into more tickets being sold.

Provided of course if you manage to survive one season in the premiership. Takes quite a while to expand seats no, and by the time everything is done you might have been relegated laugh.gif

...and Lee Chapman.

Wouldn't mind seeing Forest in the Premiership. When I last watched the play, Roy Keane was a young emerging talent and as coincidence would have it, Canadian international, Craig Forrest (pun intended) was in goal. They were also former European Champions.

If Cardiff do get promoted, will anyone put it past them to secure a European spot in their first season, with Vincent Tan and his cohort of bookies in the picture? Malaysians are the biggest betters in the region as far as the Premiere League is concerned.

Interesting facts:

* Tottenham, Liverpool and Chelsea have small pitches. No, I’m not gloating. Honest. Newcastle United aren’t that well off.

* Everton is the widest, West Ham the narrowest. Pompey, notorious for being a narrow ground, is only 3 yards narrower than Old Trafford. Am I being naive or is this really no difference?

* Highbury and Emirates are virtually the same size (110×73 to 114×74 – a yard’s increase in width and 4 yards longer – hardly cause for concern for Arsenal’s finest).

* Manchester City are finally ahead of Manchester United in something.

Haha..I knew u would some how relate the bookies and Vincent Tan together..and quite frankly, there is some truth in what u say..and as obviously stated, ur dislike of Vincent Tan is also affecting any interest u might have for Cardiff City football club..

But lets keep it strictly football interest shall we? No..im not dissing u for hating Vincent Tan and also ur interest in Cardiff..ur entitled to ur opinion like everyone else and it should be respected..but just because Vincent Tan's relationship with the gaming and betting industry is strong, doesnt mean other clubs are clean..Im just saying that big clubs are often protected because of their history, success and also their owners..Cardiff City might be owned by a gambler, but I respect the kind off football they play..so I will not question how they might end up with a European place..coz if the football they play deserves it then we should respect it..but again, thats just my 2 cents..hope no one is offended yea icon_rolleyes.gif

Well I can't bring myself to detach the two simply because he will profit if Cardiff gets promoted. No need to go into detail because those of us who read the papers know quite a lot about him, especially if you have friends or family who have had encounters with him. Just ask any businessman what they think. He isn't just a gambler. I'm not saying other clubs are clean but I know he isn't.

To each his own but I've said in posts before that I cannot support something that embodies values I don't agree with.

Hasn't been that long since we've seen Norwich in the Premiership. Friend of mine will be delighted being a fan of the Canaries. Unless my memory fails me, they were sponsored by Lotus back then and they played an exhibition match in Kelana Jaya. Darren Huckerby was their marquee player then.

what more amazing is last year they were playing league 1.gotta give credits to them for being able to come up so quick and now on the verge of getting promoted.

wat's more amazing abt norwich?
the first match of the league 1 they kena trash like 5 goals i think
one of the season ticket holder jump to the dugout and koyakkan his season pass infront of the coaches & subs.

gila gila...
FYI just to let u know, one of norwich player, Grant Holt (if not mistaken) was previously playing in singapore league.

because they got back to championship and played well until now,on the verge of getting promoted to bpl.

that fan's act is understandable considering that they were just being relegated to league 1 and got thrashed by the league 1 team.if arsenal got relegated and thrashed 5-0 by championship team also i will do the same if im the ticket holder.lol

TBH, Norwich have been in amazing form this season..coz if im not mistaken, they are the comeback kings of the Championship..in 7 or 8 games, they have come back to win games or at least get points or something..credit to them for the revival..

QPR also have themselves to blame..in their last 3 games, they have drawn those games in which they could have won promotion..so if they had won those games, I think they still had enough points to win automatic promotion..

Well, dont forget..this weekend is the penultimate round of the Championship..and there are 2 Live games on Astro on Monday night (early Tuesday morning)..do check my Live football thread for further info..

Queens Park Rangers have been promoted to the Premier League..but they still have that FA trial so their promotion is pending..

One spot remaining for the last play off spot..its between Nottingham Forest and Leeds United..Forest are in the driving seat, 3 points ahead of Leeds with one game left and a bigger goal difference though..

1st and 2nd place are promoted automatically..the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th placed teams go into the playoffs..right now Norwich City occupy 2nd place so if they keep that place, they are promoted automatically..however, Cardiff still have a chance to finish 2nd..Swansea too have a very slim chance..

Cardiff, Swansea, and Reading will at least be in the play-offs so that leaves one remaining spot..that will be decided next weekend in the last round of games..Forest are currently in 6th place and are 3 points ahead and have a better goal difference to 7th place Leeds..Leeds need to win and Forest to lose next weekend and also need to somehow overcome the goal difference..

Forest are on +16 while Leeds are on +10 goal difference

Final day fixtures:
Crystal Palace vs Nottingham Forest
Queens Park Rangers vs Leeds United

so pretty much decided now... QPR and norwich to go up... since cardiff was down 3 goals by middlesbrough in just 21 minutes.

also the winner of the playoff final can get £85,000,000 shocking.gif that will be hell lot of money if cardiff won it... shocking.gif

I thinks its actually a guaranteed 15 million for TV revenues if they go up to the Premier League..any team who get promoted will get it not just Cardiff..its just that they now hype the Play off Final as the 15 million pounds match for the winners..

Well for their sake, I hope they do a better job than they did the last time they got promoted. They only managed to muster 7 wins all season long. I don't know a single player on their roster with the exception of former Liverpool and Millwall defender, Zak Whitbread.

Grant Holt's one of those fat strikers that thrives in the lower leagues, using strength and technique to get in (think Gascoigne's solo magic).

If Blackpool stay up, we'll have Holt and Taylor-Fletcher fatting up the Premier League frontlines together.

Will be interesting to see how Taarabt does in the Premier League (guys, can you all please stop calling it the BPL?), most pundits expect him to be shackled by the better organised defence (except Wigan if they stay up), as do I.

I go for Swansea. Simply because it will be a massive piss-take (and a really funny one) to force all the English clubs to travel to Swansea.

In other news, Southampton need another point to get into the Championship.

I dont really care who they have on their roster or how they will survive next season..I just love it that they're back..Im a more sentimental guy so to see two founder members of the Premier League winning promotion to the Premier League again is wonderful..

I have been watching the Premier League since it started back in 92 and to see old footage of QPR and Norwich back then made me miss some of those old teams..it doesnt matter how bad their football may be but certainly QPR and Norwich have deserved their promotion based on their performance this season..how they perform next season is another matter..

Now Im just hoping Forest can win the play offs should they get there..or Leeds if they manage to overtake Forest..these 2 legends back in the Premier League would be great..in fact, I'll be happy with any of the play off teams to be promoted..except maybe Reading since they were recently in the Premier League and PL teams have also regularly played them in the Cups..Cardiff and Swansea to make their debuts in the league would also be special..

BTW guys, which Premier League team would u wouldnt mind getting relegated or which team would u dearly like to be saved? Lets be realistic with our choices shall we?

Likewise. I started watching during the days of the old First Division and I too look forward to the day when the likes of Oldham, Luton and Notts Country return to the top flight, if ever. These clubs have faced Premiership exile for 2 decades now. Unlike back then, the wealth disparity between clubs in the top flight and the rest of the league is huge now and it will be an uphill task for them to survive their first season back. I doubt you'll see a repeat of feats from clubs like Blackburn or Newcastle who finished in the top quarter of the league in their first seasons back. These days, just escaping relegation is a victory in itself. I can see why given that it's also pretty hard for clubs who go down to bounce right back up. Middlesbrough are going to finish just above the relegation zone and Portsmouth aren't too far away either.

I'd like to see West Ham stave of relegation. I've had a soft spot for them for some time now. Anyone remember facist and controversial striker, Paolo Di Canio's show of sportsmanship? To say that Di Canio has a temper is an understatement which made his display for fair play even more surprising. It was against Everton that keeper Paul Gerrard got injured and lay on the pitch prone as the ball was played to Di Canio who was faced with an open goal. In a move that stunned everyone, he caught the ball and pointed to the injured keeper instead of smashing it into an empty net. Won himself a FIFA Fairplay award for that too.

I think Ian Holloway has done a great job at Blackpool and I'd like to see them stay up. With a squad that hardly anyone would notice if they walked by them on a street, he's managed get some pretty good results especially at home, including a victory against Man Utd.

I don't think Wolves and Wigan have done much to justify their place in the top flight. Martinez is a nice guy but he's never really transformed Wigan from Premiership strugglers into anything. If they do go down, I reckon they'll struggle in the Championship as well especially when you consider that players like Al-Habsi, Rodallega and N'Zogbia are unlikely to stay.

for me it would be wolves and west ham.

wolves because i think they're just not good enough for premier league.not consistent enough to stay on top flight.

west ham because i think they should get relegated few seasons ago due to the tevez saga.

i would like to save wigan.they are inconsistent, just like wolves, but when they're on fire, they can beat anyone they want.

Yup..my 1sst choice also Forest..coz it would complete the return of the Premier League old boys after QPR and Norwich..and coz I love their ground..would be great to see Premier League football there again..

N I remember Portugal vs Czech Republic there I think in Euro 96..wonderful team, wonderful ground for historic reasons..

2nd choice would be Cardiff..3rd Swansea..but my 4th choice and least favourite are Reading (because they were recently in the Premier League and usually play Premier League teams in the cups) but they are the in-fprm team at the monent..

Dont forget the play off semi-finals are LIVE on Astro..good time for us to see these teams.. nod.gif

I watched Swansea vs. Forest. What a game. Forest are desperately unlucky with a penalty shout and three denials by the tiang. They dominated and were far more threatening but in the end, it was two good individual efforts that put Swansea through (the third was again, bad luck, when the Forest player slipped and let the Swansea dude pick up the ball and put it into the empty goal).

If Swansea does not improve from that game, I think an all-Welsh final will sea Cardiff through.

Can't say I'm disappointed. Never a pleasant thing seeing dirty rich people get richer.

Swansea? What a story that would be eh? First time ever in the top flight of English football.

actually they have been in the top flight before and were quite successful..they dropped out from the old first division back in the 80's but if ur referring to the Premier League, then yes, they will be the new boys..and thats why I want them instead of Reading..no disrespect to Reading but I prefer a new team and a new ground to visit next season..both teams deserve their place in the final after their efforts this season smile.gif

Ok guys..just an update..any English Lower League football fans out there? im one of them and Im delighted that there will be a feast of Football League Play off Finals on Astro over the weekend..

To any one of you who are already bored without football (except those Man Utd and Barca fans), then have a change from the normal top flight football and try and enjoy the nitty gritty side of Englsih football for once..of course u will not see the skills like Messi or the goal scoring exploits like Rooney but u will see players playing with passion and enthusiasim that can only be applauded seeing these finals are on the end of a long hard season for them..

So here is the schedule..the League 1 and League 2 Play- off finals take place at Old Trafford while the Championship play-off final will take place at Wembley:

Saturday 28 May 2011

English nPower League Two Play-off Final
STEVENAGE VS TORQUAY UNITED
ASTRO SUPERSPORT (CH811) 9.55 pm LIVE

Sunday 29 May 2011

English nPower League One Play-off Final
HUDDERSFIELD TOWN VS PETERBROUGH UNITED
ASTRO SUPERSPORT (CH811) 9.55 pm LIVE

Monday 30 May 2011

English nPower Championship Play-off Final
SWANSEA CITY VS READING

Well..what a play off final that was..a fantastic match..well done Swansea and to be honest, its ultimately deserving that the 3rd place team in the Chamionshi go up with the top two too..

Credit to Reading for their fightback but ultimately Swansea just edged it and had that extra bit of quality at the back which Reading lacked..1st Welsh team in the remier League and I hope they enjoy their tri around the remier League..whether they stay u or go down is another matter..bit to all the 3 promoted sides, just enjoy every match and every minute of remier League football..

So the 3 promoted to the Premier League are:
QUEENS PARK RANGERS
NORWICH CITY
SWANSEA CITY

3 teams relegated to the Championship are:
BIRMINGHAM CITY
BLACKPOOL
WEST HAM UNITED
