QUOTE(joonwei23 @ Apr 25 2011, 08:52 PM) yeah.. you need to purchase the Youcam for the effects. Added on April 25, 2011, 9:09 pm QUOTE(ThisIsBoletaria @ Apr 25 2011, 06:55 PM) Hang on... How come Acid_RuleZz' HWMonitor has a HDD readout and mine doesn't? No idea man.. ur HDD brand is Hitachi like mine?@Vox: You have to switch manually. It's actually quite simply done: right-click and choose your graphics card. However, there is no indicator that tells you which card is currently active. As for comparisons with other graphics cars, I would point you to notebookcheck.net, but apparently a lot of people here don't trust that site's ranking of graphics cards. It's still pretty comprehensive, though and should give you a rough idea of where the dv6's card stands in relation to the nVidia GT555M Actually there is.. If u on HD6770M u can see the Control Center icon on the traybar. I don't really trust notebookcheck rankings but their huge database make it convenient to check on sometimes. QUOTE(Vox @ Apr 25 2011, 07:02 PM) i'm using this website to check. but base on the ranking this 6770M is even lower than Nvidia GT555M. how come? There is no fps for each game for 6770M on NBC site because they didn't test it yet on the game? U can trust on the scores but not on the rankings there.and also in this website theres no 6770M check on fps for each game. thats why i m asking for other website. both running on 128 bits also. so in terms of playing high graphics games there is big differences? QUOTE(ThisIsBoletaria @ Apr 25 2011, 08:05 PM) Depends on you, really. My eyes quite happily accept 15-16 fps as perfectly playable. Some people can't live with an fps below 60. +1I find 30fps is more than enuff and 20fps is still playable. Added on April 25, 2011, 9:17 pm QUOTE(Vox @ Apr 25 2011, 07:14 PM) I said this many times already.. GT555M and HD6770M performance is similar. In some games GT555M is superior and vice versa. Please don't be this kind of guy "WOW!! this GC beat that GC by 3fps!! That GC suck don't buy it man! Effing waste your money!" It just 3fps.. you wont notice the difference in real life. whats youcam effects
for gt 555m vs 6770m there is also a thread in NBR 6770m clearly beats gt 555m by a margin in 3dmark 11, vantage and many games but some games are better optimized for nvdia some are for amd. i am pretty sure gt 550m in dirt 2 crysis 2 will beat 6770m but games like avp or crysis warhead other amd optimized games will beat gt 555m so better make a judgemtn for the synthetic results which are 3dmark 11, vantage, tessmark, unigine etc. |

@Vox: I ran a quick and dirty test with Crysis 2's sub intro up to when you can actually start moving around with a gun in your hand. If you've played Crysis 2 before, you know that there's a lot going on in that section because Crytek likes to use the intro section to showcase the engine.
Settings used were the built-in Extreme graphics setting at 1366x768 resolution. Fraps results was minimum 21 (at about the time Prophet lets loose with the light cannon at the alien Ceph), but tended to run around 24-33 fps in general. Remember that Fraps tends to reduce your recorded FPS from the actual ability of the hardware, so up that value by maybe 10%. I say this puts the 6770 on par with the GT 555M at least. Heat reached a high of about 87 C, and this is without any notebook cooler in a relatively warm room with little to no air movement from the ceiling fan. System temperature returned to idle levels about 3 minutes after stopping the game, but went down to about 60 C almost immediately after stopping. Be warned, the edge of the chassis near the vent gets really really hot and the left area of the keyboard (around the "F1" - "3" keys) get a little uncomfortable, like you have your hand beneath a thick blanket with no fan on. This is the first time I've run anything at full settings and maximum resolution and still got something playable. Holy s%#t is the phrase that came to my mind, but let's be honest, Crysis 2 isn't as demanding as Crysis was on the hardware at the time. I'm also happily impressed with the dv6's cooling. It can work well without a cooler, but I think I'm going to get a U2 tomorrow for safety's sake. @Acid_RuleZz: Yeah, my HDD is also a Hitachi. Maybe you're using a different version of HW Monitor? I'm running the 64-bit version 1.17.0 Attached thumbnail(s) |

I get the same 87c max on 1 of the core when i'm playing Assasin Creed 2@Max detailed without AA. The temp immediately dropped when i Alt+Tab to desktop. Hi Guys,
I'm really interested in this and have been doing some research as to where to get it cheapest One of the authorised HP reseller I know is quoting RM3.6k with the Beats. The guy mentioned that I do not have the option of removing the Beats for a cheaper price. So what do you guys think? Good offer? Cheers. |
