Taken during last year DCIM and it was my first time using 70200 VR2. What surprise me is that manage to get that kind of sharpness wide open with 1/15 sec @ 150mm shocking.gif

Or maybe tripod not steady enough? The shutter open and close motion do create some vibration. Assuming you use a tripod that is tongue.gif

bro what is your 1st tele lens?
directly to 70-200 2.8?
70-200 indeed an awesome lens. but I just can't get enough budget for that sad.gif

Get a second hand 80200. Push pull version can get under 2k while two touch can get under 3k icon_idea.gif

But then have to manual focus la on D90 below laugh.gif

no what I mean is what is the difference between 80-200 push pull and 80-200 two touch.
why it gives 1k difference? does it mean the lens element also different?
*
In a nutshell

Pushpull MkII
- intro in 1992
- old design
- slow focusing
- no tripod mount
- discontinued (explain the cheap price)

Two-touch
- intro in 1996
- modern design (twist to zoom and focus thingy)
- focusing much faster then pushpull
- better image quality (sharper iirc)
- has tripod mount but not removable
- still being sold till today

want to know more please read this and this

Which is better for outdoor potraits, 70-200 VR1 or 85 1.4G? And is it a lot of difference between 80-200 two touch & 70-200 VR1 in terms of sharpness & contrast?
*
Cant say much for VR1 but for VR2 the difference is quite staggering IMO and iirc blitz sold his 80200 after trying the 70200 VR2 right? laugh.gif

I think more like comparing Inspira to Evo X! laugh.gif

Really adore that lens but still cant afford it atm (since studying ler sad.gif ) so 80200 two-touch would have to do I guess tongue.gif
