since they have the experience using both type of filters, it can helps me to decide..even effect 10-50% of my decision.
*
for what I tested/owned before.
hoya hd ring is filmsy a bit.
XS-pro / F-Pro filter ring is many sturdy and of course weight more.
glass wise, dont have much difference. the made in germany thing could let u brag to ya friend

if everyone recommended some cheapo brand, will you buy?

Just saying. Each has their own opinions. As the website review, it tested over 20 filters, with details, sample image, etc. Isn't that serves as a better reference than few words from anyone?
*
thats why i stated its only effect until 50% of my decision. still need to hear others opinion though.

3.9 okay price d , try to nego until 3850 if possible

3.8k celciuz and bliz can get because they know the tauke , i think? Heng punya shop in Melaka
*
I bought mine at RM3950, got it last year just after it was launched not long. Bliz got his for RM3800.

QUOTE(Andy214 @ May 5 2011, 11:22 AM)
Shocking? Hoya HMC turn out the best of all among the 20 filter tested! Super HMC and Pro 1D also fall out and expensive B+W turns out to be not so good.

This test result is going to shock many...
*
The expensive B+W and so called the best is the XS-Pro line up. I don't see that in the review.

QUOTE(Irbean @ May 5 2011, 11:47 AM)
does it mean that hoya is better than B+W XS-Pro?
*
I don't see the XS-Pro in that review, too early to conclude.

QUOTE(ifer @ May 5 2011, 12:22 PM)
decide the purchase based on brand. B+W. or Zeiss. or Heliopan. or Rodenstock.

or the ultimate B+W VIP GOLD DMRC UV filter

*
I would look at B+W and Hoya. Zeiss no experience, Heliopan from review not too good... Rodenstock haven't seen them around here before.

I have both the Hoya HD and XS-Pro. The ring doesn't feel different to me in terms of rigidness. Both are 77mm size.

Maybe yu can test it against the HMC since you have it? But judging from our photos, assuming they're on XS-Pro, then I suppose it looks promising, or it could be the N lens tongue.gif tongue.gif

The HMC is a 50mm thread on my 50mm f/1.8D lens. My 77mm thread are all on my other lens... and only the 1635 is using XS-Pro, other 2 is on Hoya HD.

Yeap, 70200 and 85 is on Hoya HD. Basically I don't notice any differences between the B+W or HD.
