Damn that's a bummer bro, hope you can get your speakers fixed. It'd be a rip-off if you didn't.

QUOTE(Rowan23 @ May 15 2011, 06:12 PM) Nice bro, welcome to HK.. .... Damn, found one shop which carries orders, but like you said, orders take 2 weeks. I asked if it's possible to get it in 3 days LOL, fat chance Still early in my trip though, hoping to see a shop which stocks it...

My hunting mission is a failure for today. Went to Sham Shui Po's computer district, found 1 Dell shop which sells it (!!), but it's only upon order for 2 weeks. Another retailer there sold m11x, but only the R2 version. Also went to Mongkok's Dell shop, unfortunately, 3 weeks for the order to come..

QUOTE(Rowan23 @ May 17 2011, 03:57 PM) it's all the same bro....Dell doesn't really keep ex-stocks for their alienware brand, unlike the XPS systems where it should be slightly more acceptable for most consumers, as the price between AW and XPS differs quite a bit i think.... It's quite disappointing, they'd have more buyers if they keep stock of a few units at least I was actually not relying on the Dell shops, but more of hoping that other retailers would have it, like the one I found which carried the R2. Unfortunately, out of all the shops I went through, it's only that 1 non-Dell retailer that even carried Alienware. This post has been edited by DocLem: May 17 2011, 04:22 PM

QUOTE(Rowan23 @ May 17 2011, 05:18 PM) hmm, i dunno...i think selling it online works for them as well...i think it's the only drawback for a system that custom makes your items. i worked in a custom fabricator for decorative items before, so i understand your frustration, as does with most of my customers, but some customers don't mind the wait, as long as they manage to get something they want, provided with the right price of course What I don't understand is the current line isn't even that custom to be considered 'custom.' The only things you can actually customize are the CPU, RAM, and HDD. Only 2 options for colors, no custom designs, unlike other custom notebook manufacturers who really offer paint jobs and custom colors and the like. Bah, my feet hurt, and I'm frustrated LOL.

QUOTE(putochip123 @ May 17 2011, 05:47 PM) u guys might need m17x adaptor for that, 6970 100W + 940Xm 55W, already over ur original adaptor W(150W), need to tweak on bios and other stuff, it iwll be complicated. !WAN TO THROW AWAY MY M14x, shit..... Maybe you can throw it towards me? LOL @Rowan: I know man, we still have 2 days left here, though I'm less optimistic about my chances. Am already thinking of my contingencies...

Mission failed...going back home to the Philippines in an hour, no retail m11x R3s anywhere. Will have to regroup and find another way once I get back.
On-topic, wow, I thought the m15x was phased out already. I'd still prefer the m14x though for portability.

I think I've hit a breakthrough Someone here is offering to order laptops customized in the US, he'll take care of everything, shipping from the US, the filthy customs people here, for a small fee of RM 140 from the original US price, which is still cheap because Dell US has the best prices along with numerous discount coupons. Hopefully it all pushes through and I get my m11x in 2-3 weeks (Damn the wait is killing me).
