I plan to improve the sound system in my e39 525.

Any recommendation please? I tried to seach through this forum but no results.

Budget about rm2K to 3K.

1)Plan to replace the speakers and hopefully maintain the stock head unit as it's tied to the tuning and volume dials on the steering wheel

2) if head unit can be matched to the steering wheel controls, wud consider to change.

I just do casual listening to the radio (mostly) or cd while driving.

Thanks a lot!!!

With your budget, you can try component set first.... you can try something better than entry level... For example, Focal Polyglass.

Hi guy;
Heard that P80(Pioneer) HU is power full , how much the price. If my budjet is about RM3k.what can i get?sound proof 2 door can be included? TQ
*
P80 ~ RM1.5k... That was the last price I know.

If RM3k for HU and soundproof, should be more than enough... smile.gif

...If you go by my method, your car cabin can be soundproofed already with your budget.

IC..
RM3k can get P80 HU + component + AMP+ 2 doors soundproof?

Not included SUB..
*
That will depend on what sort of component and amp....

To match the P80, then 3k not enough.... but, just personal preference.

ic..then how about 3.5k-4k?thank guy for your info..really helpful smile.gif
*
I can help you to roughly break down on the pricing la...based on my experience. All new items.

P80 = ~1.5k
OK amp = ~1k
OK comp set = ~800
sub = ~500-600
...still need to pay for cables and labor. That also if your car do not require any modification.

Your system will have to run on passive and 1 x 4ch amp for comp set and sub.

Actually must you insist on P80 ah?

Hi guys, looking for a decent set of speakers to replace my damaged stock car speakers.

Don't need TOP QUALITY & EXPENSIVE stuffs, don't need amplifier, don't need subwoofer, but a decent good quality set of speakers with good vocals and good base.

Budgest within 500. Please recommend me. Too much to choose from out there...

Thanks all sifu.  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

Do u guys think its enough if i use 4ch amp to power up my component sets at the front and 6x9 speaker at the bax without the sub ?
Im only interest to hear a good sound...
Could u guys also recommend me a gud brand for this purpose ?
Thx in advance...
*
You might need to consider that the amp will not blow up your speakers...

Have a budget in mind?

is it suitable if i already equipped my car with 12 inch sub and a pair of component set but i still want replace the stock speaker with 2 way speaker ?
at the moment im using 4 ch amp with 2 channel to the component set and the other 2 ch to the sub...
do i need to add another 2 ch for the 2 way at the rear speaker ?
the reason why i want to replace it because the sound at the back seat seems to be loud enough compared to the sound at the front of the car...
what do u think ?
*
I think your sentence got typo....

If you want to add another speakers at the back, then yes you will need another amp... 2ch and maybe can choose back the same brand as your current amp.

sorry about my sentence...
is it recommended to change my rear stock speaker if i already have component sets and a sub...
*
It depends though... Most of the ICErs don't do so, because it will affect the sound stage.

But some do like it, so they just go with it.

If you add in a 2ch amp, then this 2ch can be used for your sub....the 4ch all connect to comp set.

what difference can it make compared to the 2 ch that ive been using for my component ?
u r suggesting active connection rite...
2ch to tweets and 2ch to mids rite ?
*
What diff does it make will depend on the characteristic of your amp....

That's why I suggest you to connect to all your comp set, front and back, using the 4ch amp.

The newly/plan to buy amp, connect to your sub.

If you want to play active, then you might not have enough amp for the mids and tweets, and the sub.

So plan wisely... smile.gif

Hi guyz having my set as following on a old altis

HeadUnit: JVC XR816 (3 RCA - 1 Rear,1 Front , 1 Subwoofer)
1 x 4 channel amp pump rear and front (Kenko 1600w-not true rating i guess)
1 x 2 channel pump the subwoofer (Agako 800w-not true raring I guess)
Subwoofer: 2 x 10" chap Jensen
Midbass on front: 2 x 6"
Tweeter on front
2 rear stock speaker
the problem, I cannot feel the Umpph power from the bass(subwoofer)
no matter how I tweak the balance and set the maximum gain for subwoofer

izzit bcos of my subwoofer and amp limitation on a longer boot car?cos there is no problem for the similar set up in my iswara previously

I don't want SQ or SPL. My ears aren't exactly fussy with this kind of stuffs, but I just want my passenger to be able to listen music clearly. Need a replacement speaker for my old AE92 Corolla which is busted already.

Like I mentioned before, my standard is pretty low... that is something like Proton Persona basic rear 6x9 speakers, which I think sound quite decent compare to most other car's stock speakers. Surprisingly I can feel the music like coming from the front, although it's just rear speakers (Persona basic does not have door speakers). It's bassy enough for some Kpops, and decent midrange for some metal.
*
When you said you want 30~60rms speakers, how do you come up with that figure? Anything prompted you to go for speakers with such specs?
