QUOTE(nam3le5s @ Jul 27 2011, 02:19 AM) I think I get the picture. So I guess I should rephrase the question.. this questioned urself whether u wan quality or quantity What speakers/component set should I get? budget rm300-400. I'm guessing thats enough only for front (2x tweeter, 2x round speakers, 2x crossover) ? I should later on get another set for the back right? thanks guys.. Added on July 27, 2011, 3:00 am QUOTE(Turnip @ Jul 27 2011, 02:44 AM) Hello ICE-philers?or can consider as audiophiles oso? instead of changing rear spk, maybe u can move the front to rear and buy a better 1 for front?Another ICE noob here, but worse Im more to details of sound as well i don't think i can get far as to an hifi setup like on Wharfedale speakers+Marantz receivers? i don't know my budget can go that far of my requirements. Should i increase to rm800 or something? No subs for the time being.Clarity and detail is important here, (dang im asking too much!) if you got the cps waja with metal bracket, then u are having good platform while if u got the old waja, then need to spend little on the panel mod to make ur invest worth it. QUOTE(nam3le5s @ Jul 27 2011, 08:39 AM) Howie: Is one component set is enough for a car like Wira? I mean thats why I would think I need 2 component sets. sound quality yes, sound press / party car noIzso: I don't mind getting used - especially if its good quality. But I am a noob here. Would appreciate if you throw some brand names I should be looking out for. I can increase the budget if its really worth it.. Thanks guys. Added on July 27, 2011, 1:19 pm QUOTE(Turnip @ Jul 27 2011, 09:33 AM) thank you for your reply Mr.Howie, mine is the Waja 1.8 Renault model, im not sure what u meant by metal bracket? since ur is the old waja, the cheapest solution is the panel mount spk style with some reinforcement. this work all the time with less stress on pocketSo the front move to rear?Is the front speaker the same as the rear for bass purpose, because i realize when my rear kaput not so much bass is produced Sorry kinda noob in ICE talk the rear spk should be 6.5" but fornt is 5.25..with proper bracket it can fit in. but after u change the front component, your bass will be come from front but not back...back bass is terrible for stereo. hu preout doesn't affect volume......a 8v preout should have same volume (db) with a 2v preout at the same percentage of the volume dials (%/100) on the hu.
hu with 20 dials turn to 10, are having same SPL with a hu with, 50 dials turn to 25. Added on August 4, 2011, 1:33 amhigh preout are used to increase the SNR. not volume This post has been edited by howiechoo: Aug 4 2011, 01:33 AM |

SNR is the ratio of the input signal (hu music) and the noise (from car electrical)....
The higher the SNR, the less noise you will have... if use high output hu and turn the gain high to gain volume, it's decreasing the SNR.....which is a bad idea if you are going for SQ because it intro noise to the system. to gain higher volume, power of the amplifier is the cure. But if the volume is really too low, add in 10-15% is okay..dun over nowadays amp can accept mostly 6v or even 8v output to match with the high output of the hu to optimize the SNR....if your amp can only accept 2v input but your hu are giving 8v output, the chance of getting noise from the system is a lot more higher than an amp with 4v input, so goes to amp with higher volt input. good example: "Why tune gain higher on amp will get whining noise but turn it down wont have the noise?" this is because of the SNR.......when u turn the gain too high, the SNR decrease and the signal and noise ratio are closer....floor noise are having closer ratio to your signal(music) and here comes the noise because u amplify both of them with very close ratio. Understand why manufacture make high output will help...reading time. |

QUOTE(izso @ Aug 4 2011, 08:15 PM) Howie : Interesting.. then I stand corrected. I've always had the impression pre-out affected the overall volume! so is the preout just for u to gain the output level of an amp? |

which amp which sub which speaker are depend on how you match the system. there's no best match in the world. a same amp with a same spk and a same sub can give u variable setup...

QUOTE(cheesycake @ Aug 8 2011, 03:35 PM) What I am really worried is whether I should get a 400w sub when my AMP only has 380w RMS at 2ohm. 400rms sub is actually quite powerful....i believe u will only utilize it from 150-300rms....anything above it will mostly make ur car boom boom......Zennn recommends a sub around 300-350w but I'm having trouble finding one around that wattage. ur amp will only clip once it over 380rms, and for 380rms in a normal sedan/hatchback it's already like thunder stomp...so underpowering it will be fine if you didn Spl in ur car. |

QUOTE(Oldskolboyz @ Aug 10 2011, 11:19 PM) The link provide.. test done by Richard Clark regarding Stiffening Capacitor & also so called junk... Unfortunately Richard Clark & his buddy David Navone develop & introduce it into ICE Industries at Autosound 2000. They also hold the patent where they making millions of money from it... so wat it means in layman terms? At the beginning & couple of years RC praise that so called junk like heaven, After a few years RC come out with the test & condemn it like hell.......... http://www.davidnavone.com/about_navone_engineering.htm |

QUOTE(kyheng @ Aug 11 2011, 12:47 AM) Well, when an installer has no skills, they will just use the junks to reduce voltage spikes.... A good installer will look for the ways to reduce voltage spikes, which is an art and skill...... well, when someone who dunno, he always think he can. So till the day come, still struggling with his own world.Added on August 11, 2011, 3:04 am QUOTE(Oldskolboyz @ Aug 11 2011, 12:50 AM) Another statement made by RC... so basically someone are just praying to the so call "god-alike ghost" or "ghost-alike god" that work the same way with him? if what i understand here are correct....1) http://www.monstercable.com/mpc/stable/tec...Performance.pdf 2) http://www.monstercable.com/mpc/stable/tec..._Capacitors.pdf Without David Navone, RC just nothing maybe still doing marketing audio product..... how about mine? i wan a dvd d.din on front, then a roof monitor for rear, able to play surround with max effect and stereo with best sq. music genre are mostly jazz, pop, rnb and sometimes house. car is estima 2000. budget not set yet. the main priority is the driver must be able to fully enjoy the movie and stereo while passenger wont feel boring too. Avoid changing setting while in multimedia and stereo mode. anyone to recommend me? This post has been edited by howiechoo: Aug 17 2011, 06:11 PM |
