Hi all sifu,
I have rhb signature visa and mbb2 amex cards.
During oversea, for weekday, i should use rhb signature visa to swipe, because visa got better currency rate plus rhb signature got 1% rebate, am i right?
For weekend, is it mbb2 amex the best choice? Is the currency rate after 5% rebate still better than rhb signature visa card?

QUOTE(bananalow @ Jan 25 2016, 12:09 PM) Is it the VISA currency calculator link below is what everyone using when calculate the exchange rate in this thread? The TS link on page 1 seem not working. https://travel.visa.com/apcemea/my/en/trave...rency-converterBetween, the rate of visa seem higher even without bank charge. For example, the the ringgit have strengthen against SGD (around SGD1=RM3) but the visa is showing SGD1=3.05xxx/3.06xxx nope. i am using this one: https://usa.visa.com/support/consumer/trave...alculator.html/ but now seem got problem, cannot open the page properly

I just curios, does anyone try call to cs to ask why the rate they charge is higher than what we expect (master/visa rate + admin fee)? Will they tell the reason like we can't use the master/visa rate from the website as reference?

QUOTE(my_store @ Apr 1 2016, 01:40 PM) Yeah.. I asked before. But different bank has different policy. The issues is the "admin fees", which is not clearly stated by most of the banks. Let's take an example from Alliance Bank, it's stated that there is a 1% foreign exchange conversion spread. However, in reality, they are charging 2% (by claiming 1% charged by the bank & another 1% charged by master/visa card network). For Public Bank, on the other hand, they stated clearly that the exchange will include foreign exchange spread of 1.25% (and yes, they are charging exactly 1.25%, with no other hidden administration fee unlike Alliance Bank). There are certain banks such as Maybank, which I don't prefer to use their card, because they are using their own internal rates instead of the Master/Visa rates (from my past experiences, not sure if they have changed). It's only worth to use if they give cashback. Thanks for sharing

Long time didn't post here... My last trip to Taiwan find out Aeon cc has better rate than HLB cc and OCBC cc rate is better than SC cc rate. I swiped different cards on same day to do the comparison
