Was wondering if Asus LGA 775 P5KPL/1600 is SLi capable? or just Crossfire-X as stated on the specs of the board.

Nope, it won't work. You can only run CFX setup only. There is custom driver for X38 / X48 / P45 to run SLi in CFX mobo but i don't recommend it

No worry, if you want SLi mobo for 775 you can still find some at garage sales.
