This means you have failed to install the USB phone drivers. KIES is still a very buggy software - even with a successful installation , the USB drivers somehow failed to be install, apparently due to conflict with the PC's system files . There are reports of good and similarly fail installations and is all pointed back to the individual PC installed programs. TRy Read post #4 Technical issues Q 12 - try it

No need to use lagfix - this is not Galaxy S. If your Tab is the 3G/WiFi model, just install Overcome 1.6.4 and your Tab will fly. Or installed Modaco R1 change file system to EXT4. Need Gingerbread experience wait few more days - we will see improved version of 2.0 RCI

Full charging from say 5% to 100% usually takes 4 hours+ only . If your Tab has recovery, go and clear battery settings and try again. If still need such along time, probably battery degraded - the Tab several users has reported such battery failure. Or try find alternative cable to charge to see whether is cable problem.

Definitely NO. Overcome roms meant for the Tab only. You will brick the China tablet if you flash an unacceptable rom

I'd suggest the 3G version if you're into flashing/upgrading your ROMs to custom ones like Overcome, etc. There's very little development done on the Wifi-version. In fact, even the Gingerbread firmware for the wifi-version is not available (yet or not, I won't speculate!)

If it's for your wife, and some wives hate it when you tinker with the stock version... then by all means, the wifi version. But do note, it's a slower processor and it has a much, much slower GPU compared to the 3G version)

Any idea when can update to 2.3.3 firmware using Kies??

bro, afaik, official GB is not yet available for malaysia. hence you cant update your phone to GB thru kies...

Problem here

I tried to update my TAB from 2.2 to 2.3 using KIES but:

I read alot of tutorial and it was mention I need to activate USB settings then KIES mode , but I cant find it......only got tethering

When I plug it to my PC, it says Switch to Samsung Kies (PC Studio) mode. The current connection mode is not supported by Kies........how to switch it?

Mine is Sprint Wifi-only version
