if i remember correctly, here's what i did. Enable usb debugging mode in tab, connect to pc, run super1click, click root and lastly reboot.

It has happened to my tab a few times (over 6 months) after charging ( I would switch off before charging) where no amount of pressing would start the tab. What i do is plug it back to charger until you get the charging icon then press and hold to start up the tab.

Think it's the battery.

Just flashed 'smartass' from xda using cwm.Really smooth now.Battery suppose to improve too.Need setcpu app.

Is JPD rom gingerbread ? DX version?

As i thought. People from philipines reported gttingg gingerbread dxjpc last week on xda. The rom is not on samfirmware.

I meant jpd not in samfirmware.thinklah.

For those trying to get back to stock 2.2 rom in order to update to Gingerbread thru Kies, perhaps need to amend the csc to XME using *#272#imei# . Need to root first . Haven't tried it myself so not sure if it'll work.

I've managed to roll back to stock DXJK2 (from Overcome GB v3 c/w latest kernel and ext4)and flashed stock GB ,DXJPD with Kies.
Here's what i did:

a)Flash with Odin3 v1.7
1. Download P1000DXKM3 from here. P1000DXKM3 - http://www.4shared.com/file/pqPvd29x/P1000DXKM3.html?
1. Backup your data.
2. Extract the firmware files from the P1000DXKM3.7z file.
3. select P1_add_hidden.pit for .pit file.
4. check repartition.
5. select AP_P1000DXKM3-REV03-ALL-CL874291.tar.md5 for PDA.
6. select CP_MODEM_P1000DXKM1_REV_00_CL873880.tar.md5 for PHONE.
7. select CSC_P1000OLBKM2-MULTI-CL878295.tar.md5 for CSC.
8. Flash your tab and wait for it to restart.
9. Welcome back to stock.

extra steps
10. Root by using SuperOneClick v1.9.5 by CLShortFuse.
11. Unsign Bootloaders by using this SGT-Bootloader-Patch by chainfire and rotohammer.

b) Go to Phone on tab, key in code : *#272*your device IMEI#
Change CSE code from KOR (korea) to XME (M'sia). The Tab will reboot into recovery then auto reboot into the default start menu/set up


c) Now flash DXJK2 using Odin. Rom here:http://www.4shared.com/file/-87CbOF3/P1000DXJK2.html?
Use pit and put the entire tar file into PDA.


d) Connect to Kies, now rom detected as CSC - XME and xme gingerbread offered as update. Well. you know the rest.


As for rooting, I used Chainfire CF Root.

You can try with kies and see if it works. For me second time around (due to something i tried which ended with boot screen), after DXKM3 when i checked with *#1234# all the codes were there and i then connected to kies and proceeded to upgrade once again.

If you try with kies and it doesn't work then you have to continue with other steps.

Aiya. You have ap set with euro rom- cannot update with kieslah unless you do manual flash to gingerbread or flash to DX Rom change Csc to xme (msia) etc. Then your tab no more virgin.

Since no one wants to help you. Your CSC is TGY which means that it's from Hong Kong so cannot update thru Kies. Only m'sian rom DX with CSC code Xme for m'sia can update thru kies.

this problems exists even with stock jpd. I'm now using"thumb keyboard" --think it works best for lowyat.

@ferchang :Think the problem it's either as stated by everydayppl or you didn't use the bootloader patch on KM2 before flashing jk2

The solutionis on the 1st page of this thread.Anyway,if you haven't got it already,switch off tab by pressinng and holding power button. Press and hold volume down and power button until you see samsung logo. You are niw in download mode even thiugh you have the same pc logo. Reflash with odin km2
Dxkm2 has signed bootloaders which is why yiu have to root and install bootloader patch app and run it to make your tab safe to flash jk2.
What to do. We learn s we go.The other thing-dont do this kind of thing late at night since tired and can't think straight. Also no one can help since all asleep.

Also flash is better.Scrolling in ui is smoother.As for the hardware,with the specs the tab has,,it should run anything. It's always about marketing- getting consumers to buy new phones/tablets.

What does kies say about your pda and csc ?when you key code *#1234# what do you get for pda/modem/csc.

It is difficult to help when there i s no background info.most of the time the result is stated and not much else.

@kokifung:looks like you are still in romania. Use the code to change csc again and if menu allows you to change to xme.install and your phone will hard reset.if it boots into pc screen, flash again.

There are only 3 of us left on this thread. LOL.I really regret sharing what I did to get back to stock xme.
For the last time:
@kokifung: flash back to dxkm3 and connect to kies to try to update.
@jhonsonlee: flash back to dxkm3 to revive your tab.

Wow-fantastic job. No excuse now for these guys to f it up.

The reason why some of us want to try to rollsback to stock is because of current hardware issues or in the event of future issues , go to samsung malaysia and claim warranty. Of course if full hard brick then obviously can't roll back.
I think this situation applies to jhonsonlee since his tab has LCD screen issues.

As for kokifung, he hasn't got samsung malaysia warranty since he has AP set. So, no one knows why he must malaysianise his tab.

Happy for you guys. Went back to modded rom after two days.Now on dip7's jpd rom and koxudaci's kernel. Problem with samsung keyboard on lowyat seems resolved. Now cursor back to normal.
For me with stock jpd, the temp quite high but now ok.
